BEWARE! My mother in law went into this store this morning and got quite the shock. She went in to buy products for her business like she has done for the last 15+ yrs. She paid through the bead counter cashier because you aren't allowed to take the beads out of the department. She left and ran a few more errands that took over 30 mins and realized she never got her debit card back from the cashier. So she went back to Ben Franklin and walked to the bead department and she was informed the cashier who rang her up was on her break and that she hadn't heard of or seen a debit card left in the store. As my MIL was on her way out, the cashier who rang her up earlier walked into the store through the front door holding a plastic grocery bag from a different store. My MIL said "oh great you're here! I didn't get my debit card back from you when I paid for my beads, I'm pretty sure I left it here." The employee gave her an odd look, kept walking, passed her and went around the counter and then proceeded to pull my MIL's debit card FROM HER POCKET. So she left the store with a customers debit card in her pocket to go on her break!!!! My mother in law was shocked and asked for the manager amd told the manager the story. The manager assured her the employee has been working there for a very long time and she was very sorry. My mother in law asked why she left the store with it and what their policy was for forgotten debit cards. The manager told her that they were supposed to inform the manager and it is to be put into a safe in the back and not be out on the general floor. My MIL told the manager how upset she was and that as a business onwer herself, something like this would be grounds for termination. She asked why, if the employee had been there for so long,and she knows she has been there for a long time because she sees the emloyee working often there, why she blatantly violated company policy?! She also told the manager that she feels uncomfortable with the situation and feels she needs to cancel her card and notify her bank what happened. The manager agreed with her and told her she would do the same thing and advised her to call her bank today. The owner is supposed to be calling her soon. This story needs to be heard and this may or may not be the first time this has happened to someone at this store.

Our family loves Ben Franklin and we enjoy shopping there! But we are now going to think about taking our business elsewhere as long as this employee is still employed.

This place is great if you need the latest goodies to feed your creative juices. They also do a fantastic job at framing.
