Overbilled highlighted by Retaliation

I experienced a similar situation as Kami Hopkinson. I went in for what was almost pneumonia (if I had let it go) and because I had no insurance and am on fixed income I qualified for financial assistance, but made sure I had enough cash to pay for everything at the time of my visit. The visit with the PA was good and I paid the entire amount due at that time. I received a bill for that visit through the mail, I called, they said I still owed that. Even though I had my receipts and cancelled check they insisted I still owed it. So I paid it again rather than have them turn it over to collections. Then I received Another bill for the same thing in the same amount. I called them again and they insisted Again I still owed this bill. This time when I sent in the money, I included a note telling them they needed to get someone in the billing office who knew what they were doing because obviously whoever was handling that did not have a clue and it was thievery to repeatedly bill again and again on a Zero balance. About a year later I was suffering from the same condition (itâÂÂs a yearly bronchial thing) and after saving enough money to go in, I called to make an appointment. I was put on hold then a man came on the phone and told me he could not make an appointment for me. I asked him why and he said âÂÂYou have been banned from coming here for healthcareâÂÂ, I asked why that was, he said âÂÂAll I can say is you are no longer allowed here and if you have any questions you will have to speak with the Director.â Now THAT is unprofessional! But Bear Lakers have a tendency to think they can do whatever they want. If I could rate them Zero Stars I would.I was glad to hear the PA I saw has moved to another office because I canâÂÂt imagine anyone wanting to be affiliated with them.
Bear Lake Community Health Center

I have had a least 3 occasions this summer to visit the Bear Lake Community Health Center for two different problems. I found the staff, DJ Ballingham, in particular, courteous, knowledgeable and quite competent.
Over-reacting PA caused humiliating situation.

I have a son who takes Ritalin for ADHD. This drug must be prescribed every month. I made an appointment for a refill and was given a time of 5:20. When I showed up for the appt, the clinic was closed. They had apparently made the appt at the Logan instead of the Bear Lake clinic. I could not get my son in for another week by which time he had run out of meds for 5-6 days. When they drug tested him, it of course came up negative for Ritalin because of their scheduling mistake the week prior. So I show up this month for a refill and the DEA is waiting for me. I was humiliated in front of the office personel and other patient's in the waiting room by having to submit a drug screen (which was neg of course). I have never been so humiliated or treated this poorly in my life. I will never set foot in this clinic again. The PA is paranoid and not to be trusted. My son's prescription was not refilled and must now go thru ritalin withdrawel. Thanks Nate

I have needed the services of both Nate Gracey, and D.J. Ballingham various times in the last several years. My family and I have a home in Sandy, Utah, as well as, a home in Bear Lake. Whenever I have needed medical attention, I have found both PA's to be concerned, knowlegable, and professional. If for any reason they felt I needed to see a specialist I was sent to Logan, or to my personal doctor in Salt Lake. Since we live in Bear Lake I am so grateful we have such an impressive clinic for our medical needs. I must also give a shout out to the nursing staff and the pharmacist! The Bear Lake Pharmacist Richard Ballam is the best, he is so accommodating and personally knows my medical history. Again, I am extremely impressed with the Bear Lake Community Health Center and give it my highest rating.

I brought my daughter in for a physical and I asked the so-called DR a question and he let me continue to assume as much.... He was a PA who was too forward and his bed-side manner unprofessional. He isn't even a real Doctor. And led me to believe otherwise. His questions made my daughter uncomfortable and she felt he was invading her privacy like she was in a confessional or something of this nature. Making suggestions and comments in a sexual nature that I would consider harassment. I have never experienced an exam with my daughter like this before. She said she would never go back there because she felt so uncomfortable. Ballingham was on the insurance and to add salt to the wound.... there was an error with billing because of some coding, so the insurance didn't even cover it. We will never go back.

I had a physical on 10-29-10 for a insurance break provided though my place of work. In december I contacted their billing and ask why it had not been billed, they gave me an excuse and said it would be billed the next day. This had to be into my company by 2010. In January 2011 I called again they told me they would take care of it the next day. This put me loosing time from work . I finally had to get a signed document from the clinic to prove I had done what the company ask. Thanks for the head ache, but never again with you.

DJ Ballingham, PA, is every bit as competent as any ER physician we have visited. When another doctor was unable to correctly diagnose my daughter's condition, DJ knew after only a few seconds of examination and was able to treat the condition to our utmost satisfaction. We are from out of town, but have had multiple experiences at this clinic and do not hesitate to seek medical care of many levels from this facility.
Incredible prices on perscriptions

The pharmacy incredibly fast and friendly. It also had the cheapest prices on drugs that I have ever seen. They even match other pharmacies' prices. Very good service!
Horrible billing service
by Kami Hopkinson , 02/15/2010
I have never been so displeased with a company's billing department in my entire life. I have a bill from 3/08 that they keep trying to bill to my insurance I have called numereous times and proven to them I paid for it with a check and it has been processed also explaining that I didn't have insurance at that time and they need to stop sending it to my current insurance. I still received bills after calling numereous times to take care of the problem finally I called Becky the finincial departments mananger and explained the problem to her and upon speaking to her and explaining the situation she said she would look into it and call me back. Instead of taking care of it she resubmitted the bill to my current insurance and never called me back. When I called her after receiving ANOTHER bill saying they sent it to my insurance I called her very frustrated asking for her bosses # to make a complaint and she hung up on me. That is UNACCEPTABLE. I am done doing business with them.
