Barrington Municipal Building offers information about various departments in the city of Barrington, N.J. These include fire, police, public works and recreation department, town clerk and tax collector s office, town maintenance facility, transfer station and Barrington public library. Its boards and commissions include planning and zoning, health, recreation and environmental committees. The public works department handles maintenance of building and grounds maintenance, roads, sidewalks and parks, trash and recycling collection, tree trimming, grass cutting, leaf collection and snow removal, sanitary and storm sewers and street signs. The Economic Development Committee, formed in 1996 administers economic development in Barrington, N.J. The committee works in cooperation with various offices and local businesses and overlooks the development of off-street parking, redevelopment of targeted commercial and industrial properties, streetscape improvements projects, creation of redevelopment zones and publication of annual reports. Community organizations include Ambulance Squad, Barrington Band, Barrington Business Association, Barrington Mews Friendly Seniors, Civic Association and Historical Society.
