We purchased the Campus Cleaners, this began a 39 year career in the cleaning and laundry business. By 1975 we had expanded into Medford at 702 West Main, which became Archie’s Drive-In cleaners, across from the YMCA. Then came Shamrock Cleaners, in Shamrock Square, and Archie’s Cleaners on Pioneer Street in Ashland.
In 1987 Archie passed away, but the children and I continued to operate the business. After I remarried we continued to expand with the help of my husband John Mitchell. We opened three more locations. We had out grown our West Main building, which was where we did all of the cleaning and laundry. In 1999 the Nu-Way cleaners closed down and we moved into that location at 601 East Main. The building had been known as Nu-Way Cleaners since the late 40′s, so we asked the original owners if we could continue the name. That was a yes, and now we are known as Nu-Way Cleaners. About this same time we had decided it would be to our advantage to start closing the other locations and thus created the route service This allowed us to better serve the customers that were using these locations.
