Aplington Middle School enrolls students in grades six through eight. The school provides reading, science, social studies, language arts, math, and physical and computer education classes. It offers special education and transportation services and has a staff of a librarian, coordinator, secretary and assistant. Aplington Middle School has a library and media center that includes a variety of books, magazines and periodicals. It also provides opportunities to participate in various sports activities, such as football, volleyball, cross-country, golf, wrestling, and track and field. The school offers membership opportunities in the National Honor Society (NHS), Future Farmers of America (FFA) and Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Additionally, it operates a student council. Located in Polo, Ill., Aplington Middle School is governed by Polo Community Unit School District 222, which also operates an elementary and high school.
