My experience giving blood at the Paducah Red Cross was truly awful. The person assigned to take my blood had an unprofessional demeanor and seemed not to know what he was doing. During the intake process, he scratched his face then continued touching items to be used on me that should have been kept sterile. For the blood draw, he jabbed the needle into my arm many times which left a painful, three-inch diameter bruise on my arm that lasted for more than a week. The pain lasted about two weeks. I mentioned all of this to a friend of mine who said she also had a very bad experience there and walked out without giving a donation, which I wish I had done. To top it all off, I was promised that my blood would be tested for COVID-19 anti-bodies, but it was not.
