About Thomas Alpaugh:
My family has been a part of the community since 1953 when my parents moved to Kitsap County and my father opened his law practice. The majority of my life has been spent living here and since 1989 I have represented thousands of individuals in a variety of legal matters throughout Washington State.
I am past President of Bainbridge Foundation, a non-profit agency, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and I have played an active role in youth sports coaching my four children. When I am not spending time with my family I enjoy the company of friends culled from 48 years of life's experiences.
Driving Under The Influence - Some individuals simply don't understand that innocent people may be arrested and charged with DUI too. The DUI laws in Washington are complex and have significant consequences to those charged or simply arrested. Issues such as Ignition interlock licenses, SR-22 insurance, administrative license suspensions and mandatory jail sentences are confusing. My 20 years of experience representing DUI clients have included attending training seminars throughout the United States and becoming certified to conduct Field Sobriety Tests. My experience ensures that the police have conducted their own testing properly before they attempt to label you a criminal.
Let me help you resolve your matter that's best given the circumstances of your case. There are ways to avoid jail time.
Criminal Defense - I am a member in good standing with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL). My criminal cases have included but not limited to the following: Driving Under the Influence, Assault, Minor Possession, Drug Charges, No Contact Order Violations, Driving While License Suspended, Forgery, Juvenile Crimes.
Did you know that a police officer may interrogate your child without your permission or knowledge? There are no prohibitions to this tactic under Washington law. Police routinely accost children at their schools in order to deny parental involvement and coax a confession.
I have represented children for over 20 years in a variety of felony and misdemeanor cases. Let me help your child avoid or minimize a mistake without possible long term consequences.
Asking to speak to Mom or Dad won't help, instruct your child to request an attorney and remain silent until that request is honored.
Personal Injury - A personal injury action occurs when someone is injured through the negligence of another party. I have represented numerous clients in automobile accidents, slip and fall cases and maritime injuries. My representation shall ensure that the insurance companies don't take advantage of you and that you receive a fair award for your injuries.
Wills and Estates - Make sure that your wishes are followed after death or you're prepared in the event you or a loved one suffers a debilitating injury. You'll save money in the long term if you have prepared a Will that avoids needless court intervention.
