My daughter and family were camping for the weekend 8/16-8/19. They brought their 4 month old German Shepherd which proved to be bothersome after the first night. They called us, we live in Muskegon, to see if we could come get the dog. This was our first time ever at the KOA. Upon arrival, there was a full size Chevy/GMC with a 25 plus foot camper at the first crossroad blocking what I assume was a STOP sign. My daughter had instructed us to turn right at the first crossroad. After stopping at the intersection and moving around the truck and camper we proceeded to their site making sure to follow the camp speed limit. When we got to the site my daughter asked us to sit and eat. Before we could finish a “park ranger” pulled up asking if the truck we were driving was ours. He then accused me of blowing through the blocked STOP sign and informed us we were supposed to register as visitors and then park in visitor parking. The sign directing visitors to register is attached, as we saw as we were leaving, on the blocked STOP sign. Had we seen the sign we would have gladly stopped to register. He was extremely rude and condescending. If there are security cameras he could clearly see the truck and camper blocking the STOP sign as we arrived and that I did stop before maneuvering around the truck and camper. This will be the last we will set foot in this campsite and I will never recommend to family or friends. By the way, the speed limit is 5mph, but I assume that does not apply to the golf carts flying around.
