We offer daily classes for adults and children in the non-violent, non-competitive Japanese martial art of Aikido providing mind, body and spirit integration, as well as effective self-defense. Aikido focuses on a center-to-center connection and strives to allow one to defend without seriously harming the attacker. The techniques of this art focus on control and neutralization of an attack through harmonious movement and non-resistance, based on traditional sword and staff techniques.

Super Training by peteda57 - 03/18/2009This dojo is a gem. Have trained elsewhere but this place is the best. The care and detail of the training is awesome as is the sense of community that comes across from the members. This is the place to come to if you are serious about following the martial way of Budo or if you want to touch the motion and harmony that lies beneath Aikido.
Aikieast is the best dojo in the Seattle area by James - 03/16/2009As I have trained in Aikido dojos in the US, Japan and other countries abroad I have a broad perspective on the quality of the instruction in Aikido dojos. The committment of the head instructor and his subordinate instructors at Aikieast is superior to others I have experienced. This is one of the best, if not the best dojos that I have trained at. The head instructors knowledge and experience is reflected in his unique ability to articulate what Aikido is and its place in martial arts. Ledyard sensei articulates what the heart of Aikido is better than any instructor that I have ever trained with including those in Japan.
One of the best Aikido Dojo's in the Country by Tom - 03/16/2009This is by far one of the best places in the country today to practice and learn Aikido. And the cool thing is that it is right here in our area. Ledyard Sensei's commitment to the art and ability to teach it are reflected in the instructors and students alike. The community of people, adults and kids alike, is really positive and fun to be a part of. Come on down to visit us sometime to check it out.
Awesome Dojo! by Tro - 03/15/2009Aikido Eastside is an awesome dojo! The space is gorgeous and the instruction is superb! The classes are always fun and varied. Everyone is very friendly and helpful :) Totally worth checking out! I can't recommend it highly enough!
