BED BUGS!!!!

I lived at 727 5th Ave S. in Minneapolis for approximately 3 years. One day I began to notice large, itchy, red bug bites all over my body. I thoroughly cleaned my apartment from top to bottom. After several days and quite a few more bites, I contacted the building manager. He told me it was probably stress and I should see a doctor. My doctor told me that I was being bitten by bed bugs and that I was highly allergic. I went back to the building manager with that information. His initial response was to deny there was a problem and after multiple discussions he eventually blamed me and said that I was the only person affected. After running into another tenant in the laundry room, I found out that multiple tenants had been dealing with this infestation for MONTHS before I ever notified the manager. It took over 6 months of treatments to my apartment to get rid of the bed bugs. During that time I was required to keep all of my "fabric" belongings (clothes, shoes, towels, sheets, pillows, stuffed animals, books) in sealed garbage bags. All of my furniture had to be thrown away. I missed over 25 hours of work dealing with the cleaning and treatments. Aeon Properties refused to acknowledge that there was a problem and never responded to any of the letters myself or other tenants wrote concerning the situation. This situation cost me over $3000.00. Aeon would not even admit fault in not informing tenants of the infestation, not handling the treatment properly (they treated one apartment at a time not the whole building) or the financial burden they put on their already low-income tenants.Recently, a friend of mine moved into the same building. Within a week he noticed bugs everywhere in his apartment. They still have not gotten rid of the bed bugs infesting this building after 4 years.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SLUM LORDS.
