Great Support for a Newbie

by Skyeclipper , 06/06/2012

I am just getting into RC flying and Action Hobbies owner, Brad, was very helpful picking out a plane and making recommendations on accessories. He even soldered a different connector so i could use a non-stock battery with the charger that came with my plane. Even better, he has fielded all my dumb questions as i assembled it. BRAVO.

Extremely competitive pricing

by rezman , 04/27/2011

After browsing a number of online sites for parts for my electric airplane I finally decided to visit the local hobby shops. Their prices were so good compared to online vendors that I ended up buying everything I needed. This is a small shop compared to others in the area - but don't be fooled. They can order you anything you need for your r/c plane or heli.

Best shop in town

by HeliRob , 02/22/2011

After being bitten by the RC Heli bug I started visiting all the hobby shops in the Denver area. Collecting information, asking dumb questions and checking prices. I was looking for my first CP Heli and couldn't afford to waste money on the wrong model. I ended up buying a T-Rex 500 from Brad because he had the best price of any shop I had been to (even competitive with the online stores). Then, instead of saying thank you for my business and sending me on my way, he told me to come back with my TX and he would help me get it set up and ready to fly. A week later on my next visit he spent 4 hours with me doing just that. Mind you, we probably could have done it in 2 hours, but the shop is busy and everyone that comes in wants to talk to Brad. It's a tiny, messy shop, but everyone there (employees and regular customers) really loves the hobby and is more than happy to help you.

Excellent store

These guys are great. They remember you as a person and generally your planes too. Prices good.

This store is among the best around

by Bill , 06/24/2010

I am shocked to read the comments by Vancefish. I have dealt with Brad since he took over the store. I can only echo the positive comments made by the others on this thread. This store is the best. Period. Brad carries stuff that nobody else in town will carry, and the prices are often better than what you see online. Customer service is better than any other in the area. I live in southeast Aurora, and it is well worth the time for me to take the drive across town to visit and do business with this store this store.

Proprietor is "one of us"!

by Chuck , 10/24/2009

Sorry to read of vancefish' bad experience - the "clerk" in question sure as heck wasn't the owner, Brad. I think he may occasionally allow a non-employee associate to watch the counter while he steps out to demonstrate a model or help a customer get trimmed out, as described by Jahair.Brad loves the hobby and gleefully rides the bleeding edge of emerging technology, personally evaluating the latest, greatest "hot set-up" and making it available to everyone that comes in. Yeah, his store looks like the nutty professor's workshop- copters, planes and parts in various states of dis-assembly, kits stacked up to and into the rafters, but if you give him a chance to dig around he'll find what you need or get it coming faster than you can get it online. I'm really, really glad to have a local hobby shop like this around.

Great Place for Things that Fly!!

The guys here are very knowledgable and very helpful! Probably the most personal service you will find anywhere! They have stayed after hours to help me out! Try to find that anywhere else these days....

"New Action Hobbies"

by jahair , 07/19/2009

This is the BEST hobby shop I've been to in the Denver area. Staff a customers are very knowledgeable. I went in to "look" at an electric trainer for myself and family and 45min later I was flying my new airplane with the owner and several of his customers at a field west of the store. Not only did I have help putting the aircraft together but the owner even let me use his battery and he even helped me trim the plane to fly better. I have been involved in RC in some way or another for 15 years in Arvada,Golden, Denver and this is by far the best customer service I have ever received from any hobby shop. Thank you to all of you who helped me on 7/18/09

Great Shop and friendly service

Very iffy

by Accordguy , 02/22/2009

I attended the store yesterday after being assured on the phone they had the part I needed for my helicoper. I'd taken a friends teenager with me. They did not carry anything for my helicopter or any of the re-branded copies either. We decided to look around the shop before leaving. The clerk had seemed friendly enough. However once I picked up a box from the shelf to look at the product the clerk decided to inform me that stealing from him would be strongly ill advised and proceeded to tell me what happened to the last guy who stole from him. I continued to talk to another customer about the differences between the heli (supposedly) in the box while the clerk continued to attempt to accuse me of stealing. I gave the clerk a dirty look, set down the box. Then walked around the display rack toword the door. As I left the store the clerk informed me the box I'd been holding would have been a funny thing to steal as it was an empty display box. I will never return to this store.
