It is certainly unfortunate for Rick feeling the way that he does. But it is important that we share our side of the story! The warranty on the car Rick speaks of was not derived from a repair that Ace Auto Care did, but in fact was a warranty that Drivetime used cars gives with the cars that they sell. Ace Auto Care is an authorized warranty station for most warranties companies. These companies send vehicles that have their warranties to Ace for evaluations. They pay Ace to do testing and diagnostics to verify the customer’s complaints, once the problem is verified and diagnosed, a claim is filed with the particular warranty company. The warranty co. has trained automotive technical adjusters on their staff that evaluate the claims, the labor times, part involved etc. The Drive Time Warranty Company also provides the repair parts. We do not supply any parts just labor!What Rick did not explain was that we never experienced his problem. It was a intermediate problem. When we run tests and diagnostics, if the problem does not happen at the time that we diagnose a car for the problem, and it is intermediate we certainty can not repair the problem that we can not experience , we certainly want to experience the problem so we can file a claim with the warranty company for the repair. “That how we make our revenues.” if in fact we charged the warranty company 200.00 it is because we did diagnostics under their guidance and instruction that they authorized in trying to find the customers complaint. Warranty companies do not give repair facility’s open lines of credits for us to do what ever we want and charge them for what ever we want. It just does not work that way. Any test or procedures that are done trying to find a problem is first authorized by the warranty company for us to do so we can get paid!
