Acadian Tree Service, owned by Jack Newsom, 1921 127th Avenue, Milan, IL 61264, 309-756-0774 (O), 309-266-0529 (C), was contracted to remove trees and stumps from two properties. The contract was signed 04-Sept. 2013.



He removed the trees and stumps on one property and all the trees and all but 2 stumps on another property.



The two stumps were inside a fence and Mr. Newsom said he could not get his grinder inside. He thought he could if he removed the wheels. I said I would still like to have the stumps removed. He said if he could not remove the wheels there was a product he could use to deterioate the stumps from within. It involved drilling holes into the stumps and pouring it in to eat out from the inside.



Since he was prompt with the trees and most of the stumps, I decided to pay him in full on 06-Sept 2013. He cashed both checks (for 2 properties) totaling $2800.00 on 10-Sept.



He told me he would get the 2 stumps removed the next week.



I waited nearly two weeks and called him 19-Sept 2013 because the 2 stumps were not removed. He apologized and said he forgot and that he was glad I called and that he would remove the 2 stumps that weekend barring there was no rain so the product to deterioate could soak in. It rained 20-Sept but was dry for the next week.



I went on vacation on 26-Sept and returned 11-Oct thinking the stumps would be removed. They were not.



I called again on 12-Oct and a woman answered and said he was not available to come to the phone. I left a message to call me regarding 2 stumps he had not yet removed. He did not return my phone call.



On 16-Oct my wife called from her phone and he answered. He apologized again and gave her an excuse and said he would come over the weekend of 19/20-Oct with his chainsaw and cut the stumps out. My wife said she would call Monday, 21-Oct, if he still had not removed stumps. He had not removed the stumps.



Monday, 21-Oct, she called him and left a message saying to call her back or she would report him to the BBB and leave negative reviews on websites like Yelp, etc. He did not return the phone call.



He obviously is incompetent or negligent with the matter. I do NOT recommend him and will never recommend his company.
