Went through A to Z rentals for my wedding linens. They gave me a written quote but when it came time to pay they had increased the price over $100 more than I was quoted. When I brought the quote in and showed the manager he would not stick by my quoted price because he was "already losing money." Instead he told me he would split the difference and there was nothing more I could do about it since my wedding was the following day. I would suggest taking your business elsewhere.

I have rented from this location for years. They have always been super helpful and provided me with the correct tools to get the job done right the first time. They were very fair to me. I was late returning the equipment, which you should not be, but they didn't even penalize me for being late. I love these guys.

They will knowingly rent you faulty equipment or damaged equipment or a tool that was made in the '50's... If it doesn't operate correctly... doesn't matter if it's rented you're responsible. Please save money and rent from a reputable retailer, who won't rent junk out.

This place is a joke. I've rented from them probably 5 times now and each time I get in an argument, and I hate arguing. Well this is definitely the last time. Their equipment is old and falling apart, they're staff is incredibly rude and will straight up lie to you. One visit I wanted to rent a trenching backhoe, and that thing looked 30 years old and rolled down a few cliffs. I passed on that one, and rented from a reputable business in Bondurant. Another time I had to argue with the salesperson because he was suggesting I was an idiot because his crappy plate compacter wouldn't start, and now finally the last straw today when I picked up a tool about 2 hours before close, and the salesperson told me it would be fine to bring it in first thing in the morning for the 3 hour rate. Bring it back this morning, and what do you know, I now have to pay the day rate because I didn't get it in before close. There are much better business in Des Moines, don't bother with this one.

Rented a one man post hole digger, biggest piece of junk ever, would not dig at all. Returned it and tried to upgrade but the next one up was broke. They returned $10 of $52WILL NEVER RENT THERE AGAIN!!!!!!

I rented a masonry saw for a retaining wall project. They quoted me a certain price and said the blade was included in that price. When I picked it up the price was higher than what I was quoted AND the blade was extra. The saw worked great, and they provided the fuel/oil mix. After I returned it I saw on the bill the blade was noted as a purchase instead of a rental. Good thing I went with the cheap blade. I'll look elsewhere for future projects. I'm not giving 1 star because of the quality of the tool.

The owner of the fine facility is Steve. I was amazed how nice Steve has been during a troubling time we had with our home. Anytime we needed to rent sometimes in a hurry he had it ready and waiting for us to pick it up. Steve told me his golden rule: "Treat customers like he would want to be treated” This is why I will always rent from Steve and A to Z Rental Center.
