Fishy looking reviews.....

I am looking online to find an air conditioning contractor to use.... I came across this company. I think its funny that the first 4 5 star reviews are all on the same day and in the same format... but the 2 different reviews from what look to be actual costomers and not employees reviewing their own company are awful. I wouldn't even call this company based on that alone that they need to make themselves look better than they are..... good luck to anyone that uses this company!!!!!

Recommended HVAC company , I have been dealing with contractors my entire life and recommend very few BUT A Genie Heating and Air is certainly one of the best around. This company has standards well above the rest and since it is family owned and operated. it treats the customer with respect. If you are looking for a quality, fair priced, customer oriented Heating and Air specialist look no further. Mark

The toilet in my house was backing up and plunging the toilet was no success. I called up my local plumber and was refereed to AGenie in Manville,NJ . I was especially happy with the wonderful and fast service. The technician Joe really took the time to explain to me in detail what steps he was taking to correct the problem as well as his findings. With using a camera, he was able to identify that there was heavy buildup but no broken pipes. He stated here for hours and completed the job correctly. I would definitely recommend this service. Great Job I came down to do the laundry and found that the sewer pipe was backed up into the utility sink. A Genie was there within one hour. The pipe was unclotgged and the technician gave me advice to avoid future problems. He was extremlely helpful and professional. AJ

The installment crew left our home in better condition than when they arrived. The actual installation was much better than what we had previously. By Monday evening, my family was back in our warm home enjoying our new environment. Your company and its dedicated employees turned what could have been an awful experience into a highly satisfying experience. When my family's situation was not good, your company went above and beyond to take care of us. these guys will take you for a ride! I recently had a furnace repair done by A Genie Heating. The grand total came to more than four hundred dollars. When questioned about the total, A Genie guys told me that the part they needed to replace (hot surface igniter) was more than half of the of the repair price, so I paid the bill. A week later I was talking to my regular hvac guy about a different project, and I also mentioned recent furnace repair done by A Genie Heating. My guy told me that his price for replacing hot surface igniter was $189. I also called a couple of local hvac companies, their quotes were comparable. Local supply store quoted $27.99 for the hot surface igniter. If you know how to use a screwdriver, this part literally takes 10 minutes to replace. After multiple calls to obnoxious/belligerent repair man, and complaining to the main office in Somerset I was able to obtain partial refund of overcharges. Never again this company can not be trusted!

A-Genie Services - Avoid if at all possible

We recently had a problem with our heating unit and called A-Genie in to diagnose it. They discovered that the ignitor had failed and needed to be replaced, but did not have a price or answer on where/when a replacement would be available. They left to check with suppliers. An hour later I called them and found out that they had found a replacement part about half an hour away. They told me the price of the part was $385. I rent and don't own, so I informed them that I had to check with my landlord to see if this price was acceptable, which would take some time and possibly not happen until the following day. At this point they got very pushy and told me that if I didn't buy this part from them before end of day (it was ~3PM at this point), they would charge me, in addition to the service fee, for the time they spent trying to find the part (which I never signed up for). Not having heard anything back from my landlord, I agreed to let them install the part and I figured I'd wo
