In 1977, a Chevrolet dealer became aware of the need for vehicle interiors and heard that specially fitted trucks were needed to replace the van-type vehicles that were being used in everyday commerce. Providing the ability to install customer-designed interiors in vehicles would give the opportunity to sell both the vehicles and the installation service, so LDV was conceived. LDV has grown to more than 30 bays in multiple facilities. The company is a leader in providing homeland security vehicles to federal, state and local customers. Its list of clients also covers a variety of sales and service industries, such as mobile medical, mobile sales and promotion, bookmobiles and bloodmobiles. Accessories, replacement parts and replacement keys are available to LDV customers through the parts department, while the in-house graphics department can customize signs and graphics for both truck interiors and exteriors. LDV is located in Burlington, Wis.
