Great Lakes Energy Cooperative is a Michigan-based utility that provides energy solutions to more than 120,000 customers in nearly 30 counties in western Michigan. The cooperative features long-distance phone service for businesses and residences. It assists customers with Internet access, surge protection, electrical maintenance, space heaters and tree trimming. Great Lakes Energy also performs energy analysis. The cooperative is a part of Touchstone Energy, a national alliance of local, cooperatively owned utilities that provide high standards of service to communities. Great Lakes Energy employs more than 200 people statewide. It has operated for more than 65 years and is based in Boyne City, Mich.
