I apologize for my critical review

I was so very wrong in writing what I did. The Bible says to "Speak the truth in love." I had never even confronted the person who had hurt me to ask why he'd done it, so I called the church and left a message asking this person to call me back. This person called me back and apologized for his actions, and he asked me to forgive him. Is my face ever red. I was the one who wasn't being Christ-like. I am asking the Lord to forgive me now for any harm I may have done by writing what I did, but I'm happy I have this opportunity to apologize.

This is a church that shuns repentant "sinners"

Jesus commands us to love our enemies and do good to those who mistreat us, and I am only writing this in hopes the pastor and the congregation will seek to be more Christlike if they say they follow Jesus--and I'm glad I genuinely know and love Jesus, or I would've turned away from the Lord because of the treatment I received from their pastor. I am glad I read this review by Ron, as I had just been shunned by their pastor and a member of the congregation during the time that Ron wrote this review. Even if I were guilty of the wicked rumors I now understand that were being spread about me, has the pastor ever read of Mary Magdalene, and what Jesus' response was when he was accused of associating with "sinners"? And this was the Lord Himself, not fellow sinners. The irony here is I had asked a highly respected Christian who lives in another town if she knew a good church that I could go to for the Christmas eve service. I am disabled and use a powerchair, and live on the outskirts of a town near Boulder, and Calvary Bible was recommended, as that's where her son goes. Unfortunately it snowed Christmas eve, and my bus for disabled people was late picking me up after the service. The pastor had to sit with me for a couple of hours, and he kept anxiously checking his watch. I felt bad that I was keeping him from being with his family but there was nothing I could do about this considering I was in a powerchair without a car.. We were just talking when he asked which churches I'd tried in the town I lived in. I didn't want to speak disparagingly of the sermons given by the pastor of the church I'd "tried," but I wasn't happy with being asked that question either, although I answered politely. I also befriended a lady who goes there, and we exchanged home phone numbers. The next Sunday I went back and was talking to the son of the lady who recommended Calvary Bible, when suddenly mid-conversation the pastor came up, raised his hands in the air, took this man by the shoulders, and led him away in front of everyone. I was shocked but assumed he had something important to discuss with this man. But the next Sunday I was speaking to the woman I referenced earlier, and Mr. Shirks also raised his hands in the air, and took her by the shoulders and led her away, and when she refused to return my phone calls (we'd talked previously), that's when I understood I'd been "shunned."Christianity is a call to repentance with asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. I've never before heard of a church that refused "sinners." Scripture says "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another just as God in Christ Jesus forgave you," and I find Mr. Shirk's behavior unfathomable, and I wonder which Bible he's been reading. In the town in which I live I have been treated horribly by a wicked, unsaved doctor, who knew I am a Christian and saw an opportunity to strike at Jesus by publicly humiliating me, and it saddens me that my brothers and sisters in Christ would judge me by his actions. However, there is a Scripture which says not to have anything to do with a brother or sister living in idleness, and I found out later that the church was questioning among themselves where my money came from, but no one asked me. They should have asked me, not spread things from a medical record--and things from a medical record are supposed to be confidential anyway, regardless of its accuracy. I came back here a service-connected permanently disabled veteran with 9 years service and not everything in my medical records is accurate, but neither did I expect that church members would repeat anything written in my medical records, much less believe that because a doctor wrote it, it's accurate. Nevertheless, today is Easter and I'm worshiping my Lord and Savior in priv...

Terible church

I was a member of this church for over 5 years. This is not a christian church. The person who heads this church Mr. Tom Shirk encouraged my wife to read a book that denies most claims of The Bible and is clearly recognized as a new age teaching written by one of the words leading new age authors. When I showed concern for this he made fun of me and laughed at me in front of my wife. I have consulted several highly reputable christian pastors about this factually and they have all condemned Mr. Tom Shirks actions as being wholly unchristian and unfathomable for a pastor. This church likes to do things in the community that make it look good, but that is just a facade. "Oh look at us" they say, but behind the scenes they are worthless! They won't lift a finger unless they are getting recognized for it. Mr. Shirk takes multiple extravagant vacations every year on the churches money. Far more than any pastor I have known in 30 years. Their Sunday school has absolutely no security. When dropping off and picking up my child I was able to simply walk in and out without being asked who I was. Not once was I asked to verify that I was leaving with my child. Anyone off of the street could simply walk in and take a child. They issue name tags but don't check them when you leave. Not once was I asked to show my badge verifying that I was the parent of the child I was leaving with. And its not like the staff knew me. Persons with any visible hint of sin are shunned and publicly shamed (although thats who Jesus said he came for) This organization that calls itself a church is simply a vehicle for the staff to live off of the money people give to it.If your aim is to know and serve Jesus this is not the place for you.
