I've had my 68 squareback since way back in my college days and I still use it occasionally. Needless to say, I’ve had to replace the engine several times. The last one was a GEX International 1776 that I put in it back in 1988. It finally gave up the ghost last month. So I called them again for another engine, same thing. Paul lead me through some very nice upgrades this time. These guys are really nice to deal with. The engine arrived the other day and looks beautiful. Thanks GEX International for still being there.

I have mixed feelings about GEX International. They’re engine arrived with freight damage. You could see where there were obvious holes in the box where a forklift from the freight company had gone through and damaged the push rod tubes. To make a long story short, I refused it. Then GEX dealt with a freight company and sent out another engine for me immediately. I received it a few days later and I now have a great running engine installed.

I did my homework before choosing GEX. I spoke to friends, checked their references and checked with my local repair shop. But my decision was made after speaking to their salesperson, Paul, about my bug. This guy was extremely knowledgeable and courteous and lead me through every step of the way to make this project workout. I will be recommending to GEX International to my friends.

I have heard of GEX International at car shows for some years now. So when it came time for an engine for my 72 Beetle, I wanted to give them a try. The salesman I talked to, Paul was very helpful in deciding which engine to get and patiently lead me through the options. We ended up with a 1776 with all chrome, balanced, dual carbs and serpentine belt and pulleys. A couple weeks later there it was. I was so excited to get it in and started. Worked like a charm. Can't wait to take it to the next show. I wanted to thank GEX International for a terrific buying experience.
Update... I had a problem with the fuel pump on this engine after 1.5 years on it. Called GEX and the just sent another one out at no charge. Now this is good service.

Just wanted everyone to know I just found the best VW engine place in my own backyard at GEX International. I was looking for a motor for my bus, Something with more power than the 1700cc engine in it. GEX provided me with a 2.1 liter turnkey engine that made my old bus run like it never had before. So for all you VW fans that need a engine for your VW's, GEX International is your best bet for a great engine.

GEX International solved 2 problems for me. They helped me decide on which engine to purchase and got it here in a hurry because my prior engine had just died. My Van engine needed a quick engine replacement and they had one in stock to ship right away. A day later I was on the road and smiling again. Go GEX International.

Thanx, GEX International. The engine I purchased just before Christmas arrived and I finally got it installed and it was worth the wait. It sounds much better than when the car was new. It purrs like a kitten. We are road testing it today. Thanks for all the help and advice. We will certainly recommend GEX International to others.

This month marks 4 years since I bought the 1835 engine for my 67 Bug from GEX International. This has been the best investment that I have made for that old bug. Still runs strong and gets me up the hills in a flash. They have been doing this a long time, so I guess they have it all figured out. I just told my father in law about GEX International for an engine he is contemplating for his Bus. I think he is ready to pull the trigger.

My first experience with GEX International was with a 2110 turnkey engine I bought for my buggy back around 2002. This engine really ran good and still does. So when I needed another for my sister’s 75 Beetle, GEX was my obvious choice. She wanted something with a little more power than her stock 1600, so we got an 1835 engine for her with a lot of upgrades. The transaction went flawlessly and we had the engine in a couple of weeks. It is now installed and really runs well. I wanted to thank Paul especially, at GEX International for his patient detailed explanations of the upgrades we got for the engine.

My shop has used engines from GEX International for the last 23 years. Only saw a couple of problems during that time and they were taken care of immediately. The service has always been outstanding. My customers like the immediate availability and product quality.

When my wife needed an engine for her 68 VW Bug, I did not know where to turn. So I did an internet search and GEX International popped up. After a lot of my questions, I placed an order. I work for a shop that does mechanical work for most American cars. A customer of mine needed an engine for his Vanagon and he was considering GEX International. I called to cross examine them about how they build the engines and the parts they use. Their salesman explained to me that after building, they hot run and dyno test all of their engines, even long blocks, before shipping. This was a big selling point to me. Anyway we received the engine shortly thereafter, installed it and it runs just like it was new. I now feel comfortable in using GEX International for all our customer needs.

GEX International has always done well by me, I have bought a total of 4 engines from them over the past 20 years. I only had one minor problem and that was corrected easily with the help of their customer service rep. I have recommended GEX International many times over the years.
