My granddaughter was taking school pictures the following day so I was pressed for time. Be Be her stylist looked at the picture of her a dress she was going to wear for her picture, and said I have a style for you. My granddaughter looked like a princess on her picture day. Be Be also have me tips as how to care for her hair so out would look fresh picture day. Thank you so much !!!! I will definitely bring her back.

I have been frequenting Serene hair salon for years. Generally when I am out and about people compliment my hair and ask if I go to the city. I am happy to say that no, I go to Serene Hair Design and that the owner, Christine does my hair and that I go on Mondays. It is a nice, professional and friendly atmosphere. I strongly recommend that you check them out.

I'm beyond happy with my haircut! I had Chari as my stylist. I showed her a picture of the bangs I wanted and then just a trim to get rid of split ends. She did an amazing job and understood exactly what I wanted. The lady I spoke with over the phone was very friendly. I asked her about their prices (very reasonable) and hours. She didn't tell me they colsed at five instead she checked with the stylist and told me she'd be available in 30 minutes. I now realize that they stayed open late for me too!

My stylist Kavonta Leaks works out of Serene Hair Design, a professional servicing salon. I am pleased to report that when I am in the shampoo bowl under the direction of Kavonta’s fingers or that of her trained assistant it is a magical experience. The massage my scalp receives is calming in ways you could only imagine which is welcomed after a stressful week at the office. Kavonta not only comes across as patient and caring with respect to the treatment of my scalp but she takes time to explain my options and recommends conditioning treatments to help improve my future outcome. She is overall the most experienced stylist I have ever encountered. Additionally, when it comes to applying weave to my severely sensitive, damaged, bald (60%) scalp, Kavonta’s technique has an end presentation of natural looking. If you were not privy to the procedure you would not be able to tell that I am sporting weaved-in hair. She uses a method known as no braid invisible sew-in. [OTHER STYLISTS have pulled what little hair I do have into a tight braid applying an enormous amount of stress to my already sensitive scalp as a result placing me in an agonizing uncomfortable state for more than a week in addition to causing headaches not to mention the tracks would loosen and become flawed for all to see]. Kavonta has many talents, she suggests I pick a style preference from one of the many style books the salon offers and she then proceeds to relax, color, cut and style my hair in a way that is complementary to my facial structure. I was 19, and I decided to cut off my hair during this winter, which is a big step because my hair was so thick, not long, but very thick and hard to maintain. The only people who really knew how to perm my hair really well & I never really go to salons, so I was a little scared but a lot of my friends recommended the salon. When I called for my appt. they were friendly and easy to talk to so, that put me in ease. When I went to my actual appointment, the recommended stylist let me know what can be done, what can not be done, she didn't rush me, etc. She understood it was a big step and wanted me to find the right style. I love the salon and every thing they did for me. It's comfortable, easy to find, and not too noisy. I most definitely recommend anyone to go there!

This is a great hair studio that specializes in maintaining healthy african american hair. I started going here a year ago when my hair was in horrible shape due to extreme stress. I had no perm(yikes).The stylist never batted an eyelash and knew exactly what I needed. Hair is important to women and they never made me feel embarrassed about my hairs condition. They worked with me and I am glad to report I have a thick head of hair again. There are few places in Bolingbrook/Romeoville or any of the surrounding areas that can attest to that kind of result(those egyptian salons will FRY your hair). Serene's stylists are very friendly and make you feel right at home. The shop is well maintained and the decor is warm and inviting. They take walk-in's but I suggest an appointment for weekends and evenings. Take your tired weary hair here for a jump start, I did!
