Customer loyalty at this place STINKS! I've been coming here for a while now and the employees know my face. Well, I arrived at this store with three minutes to spare before their closing time and they would not take my sale. They said, "Oh, if we would have known you were here, we wouldn't have shut our computers down. Our clocks say 7:05." Now, I know it was not after the time they closed (7:00) because my cell phone time and the First Piedmont clock across the street said I still had three minutes until 7:00. Not to mention, the neon OPEN sign was still lit up! They need to get their act together or they will be out of business soon. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere. I will also be writing to the dog food manufacturer that I purchased from there and will request they stop selling their product there and start selling it at Petsmart of Petco instead.

Price, Quality, or Service. The basic foundations of business. I purchase all my pet food and treat at Saluda River. I recently purchased some dog biscuits when I got home I found some cobwebs on them. I brushed them off and put them into a ziploc bag with additional treats I purchased at the store. The next day I began to find white worms, maggots or something equally appealing. When I returned to the store, they advised me they had no system in place to track the age of bulk treats. Other than that their lack of concern for the health of my dog, who had been fed several, was less than appropriate. Professionalism is absent of all employees who were present on 03/15/2013.



They obviously don't have the lowest prices, service (as demonstrated), or quality. Guess their business plan is who cares.

I absolutely love this place. ...

I absolutely love this place. Awesome customer service and they definitely know what they are talking about. They have always been very polite and can answer any questions. In regards to the comment below, I have a reef tank and an anemone and nothing has ever been wrong, and I also have multiple fish in there including clowns, angels, and puffers. The store always seems super clean and doesnt have the pet store smell like most. I would definitely reccomend this place to others.

Wouldn't ever go back or sugge...

Wouldn't ever go back or suggest anyone else going there. I purchased a anenmoe after being told it would go with my reef tank. They were aware of what I had and what I was trying to do, they provided false information just to sell me something. This type was not compatiable with it at all. They were very rude when I spoke to them on the phone concerning the matter. Alll they did was try and argue with me about being right. They do not know what they are talking about. Also they have very unkept tanks should have been my first sign. Won't be going back and will be letting others know how horriable this places is.

As Executive Director of a non...

As Executive Director of a non-profit dog rescue group I requested a donation for an event we were holding. I dropped off the appropriate paperwork 1 month in advance of the event. I went back to the store in Boiling Springs, SC 4 additional times without getting an answer. I was then asked to send an email to the Easley store and told I would receive a call regarding my request. This company would have been given name recognition, a thank you card, a tax donation receipt and helped a very worthy cause.

I never received any response whatsoever. I have sent a follow up email to find out why I was not at least called even if the answer was "no".

If I do not receive a response I will stop doing business with them and will boycott going forward.

This was my first visit to Sal...

This was my first visit to Saluda River Pet Store and as soon as I walked in, I wasn't greeted and wasn't asked if I could be assisted with anything. I asked the guy at the counter if they had a particular product and the only response I recieved was "No". I've worked in retail before and something else could have been said, such as: Let me see what I can find; Let me check and see; Let me get someone that can futher assist you. The objective to to MAKE A SALE.. Right??? I further proceeded to shop and to see what all they did have to offer. Much to my suprise they had the product that I was looking for. While I was checking out, I informed the guy for future references they did have this product, and he said "yea, I realized that after I told you No" but did he offer to come back and tell me that he had told me incorrectly or that he forgot they had it. Then he advised me that he wouldn't use that particular product. I've already done my research on this particular product and didn't need nor want his advise considering he didn't even know that had it. Then I told him what I was doing with the product and he was smart and said " Good luck with that" AWFUL customer Service!!!

Wonderful place! So much bette...

Wonderful place! So much better than petsmart and petco. The staff is wonderful, especially the young lady that works all the time. She is awesome and knows about all the products. She helps me everytime I go in there and is always just too sweet. I would definitely reccomend this store to others. No complaints here!

An amazing staff who know their products. Are quick to answer questions and go out of their way to find what you need and help you choose anything you are looking for or ask for help wth. Reasonable prices and quality products with a great staff.... SOOOO much better than PetsMart or PetCo....

I love shopping at local compa...

I love shopping at local companies instead of big box stores because the employees care about service and actually have knowledge of the products. Any profits are kept in the local area instead of going to some corporate headquarters hundreds or thousands of miles away. Saluda River Pet food center is a perfect example. I didn't understand the difference in all the dog foods and one of the the young man took the time to explain the choices and gave me reasons for his suggestions. I'll continue to shop at these stores and recommend them to all my friends.

It was raining and a nice young lady came out to our truck wih umbrella in hand and helped me enter the store.We will shop there again.

I went to Saluda River Pet whe...

I went to Saluda River Pet when the business recently opened. The staff was unfriendly, and after asking to speak to the manager about the unfriendly staff, i realized why they were so unfriendly. The store owner was extremely rude when asking about services. I only received yes or no answers...like I was bothering him. He acted like you were doing him a favor by doing business with him.



After comparing to other companies in the area...Pet World and Pets Mart, I discovered that they are overpriced by an average of 10 %.



Good Luck with your business Saluda River Pet...you are going to need it with overpriced supplies and terrible customer service. Patrons in Boiling Springs will not support a business like that!
