A simple real estate transfer transaction (of inherited property) that SHOULD have taken 90 days stretched into EIGHT months -- and I wound up paying MORE than twice the fee, that I THOUGHT had been quoted to me by this attorney -- and WAS quoted to me by several OTHER lawyers specializing in this area of expertise -- with offices in the same town.

I also lost a great deal of money on this property -- because of the extraordinarily lengthy timeline, and the ineptitude of the lawyer's assistant. I was given some false and bizarre information by this assistant along the way, including the name of the Judge involved with this case; that the case was taking so long because the assistant FORGOT to place an ad in the newspapers; that after months and months -- the attorney was FINALLY seeking 'homestead', something that should have been taken care of at the beginning; a letter stating I would be charged MORE because I refused to come into the office to sign papers, which was a LIE -- I said FOUR times I would be right down, it was my partner in the transaction who could not come that day -- then I was told told it was the lawyer's wife who wrote the letter. I found out later this lawyer was NOT married.

When this matter was FINALLY closed, and I questioned this lawyer on the bill (two and a half times HIGHER than expected) -- he said, and I quote, "Well, I have to get paid, too."

I checked, the paperwork itself and the ad cost several hundred dollars. The bill came to around $3,500.

I can prove EVERYTHING. So, why did I wait so long for this review? I didn't know I could review this guy online.
