My aunt works as a city health inspector. She told me never to go there and that they are just barely open because of all of the health code violations.

The food at Shanti is delicious. However, their dinner portions were unacceptably small for the prices my friend and I paid. The wait for our food was far too long considering there were so few people there when we arrived, and the overall service was poor. Also, they have an abysmal (and pricey) beer selection with only two Indian brands and no domestic brands.



I'm not from Bloomington, so I can't recommend other restaurants in that area. But if you're somewhere in between Bloomington and Indianapolis, go to one of the ones in Indy - whether Indian Garden in Broad Ripple or the ones on the west side near 38th street.
