After a few years of dealing with the challenges in this place, I've finally concluded the main reason for most of the obstacles: There really IS nobody in charge. This is especially true during the night shift. Just when you thought the first three or four dozen things you needed to straighten out are all fixed, another dozen or two OTHER problems pop up. Sure, lots of the issues are related to all the struggles of caring for elderly and/or handicapped people, but you would NEVER imagine that so many people who apparently do this for a LIVING are so totally lacking in guidance, knowledge, and/or common sense about the very thing(s) they are actually paid to do. If you find yourself "losing it" just take a deep breath and remember, it's not their fault, because there really is NOBODY in charge here. Nobody.
