I was so looking forward to eating here after years of hearing about the famous fried chicken. Was never so disappointed! Watery soup, overcooked vegetables and half the chicken wasn't even cooked through. Service was mediocre.KFC was better! You couldn't pay me to go back. It's depressing patio made the meal even worse.

DO NOT BOTHER!!!!

This has to be the worst dining experience in the desert. 3 of us ordered 3 different entrees. One thing in common was NO TASTE - ...at all! the mashed potatoes tasted like water. The chicken fried steak is a fried hamburger. The chicken & dumplings are a total mystery .. parts undercooked.. parts overcooked.. but still.. all the flavor of WATER. The soup which was supposed to be corn chowder was a runny yellow liquid. I have worked in the restaurant industry before. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THIS RESTAURANT IS RECYCLING FOOD FROM OTHER TABLES. The food is served "family style" (in community bowls) and uneaten portions are scurried back to the kitchen without asking if you want to take anything home. On top of all this, after we complained and sent the food back we were STILL CHARGED $30.00 BECAUSE THAT IS THEIR MINIMUM SERVICE FEE... EVEN FOR UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS!!!! Do yourself a HUGE favor and AVOID MURPH'S GASLIGHT AT ALL COSTS!!!!!‎

Fabulous Fried Chicken Dinner

I have only eaten at this restaurant on Sundays, as that is the day when they only serve their famous fried chicken dinner, served family style (some of the tables even have lazy susans) and it's truly delicious.

When you arrive at the restaurant, in the wating area there is a platter of cut up cheese and crackers, in addition to their fabulous home-made chili, which you can munch on before being seated. Make sure you take the time to eat some of their amazing chili, but not too much or you won't have room for your lunch/dinner.

The lunch/dinner starts with chicken with rice soup, green salad with their own home-made dressing, fresh rolls, fried chicken, black-eyed peas, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy and ends with strawberry shortcake. If you want more of anything, they'll give it to you. Then, just before you're ready to leave, they bring you another platter of fried chicken to take home with you!! Yes, it's true! I'm not positive of the hours of operation but I believe that on Sunday they open at 3PM for lunch. It is located across the street from the Bermuda Dunes Airport.

The hostess is delightful and the staff are very pleasant and efficient. It is truly one not to be missed.
