Customer service has a lot to be desired. When I bought my house in Berkeley Springs it had a Blue Flame tank outside. On April 29 I settled. I found a letter on the counter saying they were going to lock the tank if we didn't contact them. I thought that we may owe on the gas we had in the tank. I called to find out nothing was due. I decided at that time this is not the type of company I want to deal with. I received a call today to pay for a test so I informed the customer service individual I was planning on using the gas that was payed for. The response was that is not how this works and she was submitting a work order to have the tank removed with gas that had been payed for in it. Looks like Blue Flame has no problem stealing.

We recently had BlueFlame run a new gas line from the existing one in our crawlspace and while the work was satisfactory the cost was not. Having used Blueflame before I trusted their proposal to be realistic and fair and not a ripoff. Sadly I was quite mistaken. The proposal was for $215 in labor and $313 in materials. When the estimator was here I asked how long it would take and how many people. He said two people about two hours. Well the job only took one guy about an hour. And as for the materials a quick google search showed they could be procured for well below $100. When I called Blue Flame to discuss the cost I was told there was nothing they could do and I would need to pay the full amount. I'm sharing my experience so others will think twice before using Blue Flame. If you do I suggest you ask for an itemized breakout so you can determine if the estimated hours and materials are reasonable. In hindsight I believe this job should have cost me around $200 and not the $559.73 I ultimately ended up paying.
