Established in 1999 the Bucks County School of Bartending has built an excellent reputation for training quality bartenders. We adhere to proper instruction of traditional cocktails, but stay on the cutting edge of new cocktail trends. It is our belief that bartending is an art form--not just a job. Recently, we have moved from our previous location down the street to a beautiful new state-of-the-art facility. Unlike other schools, we offer our students a realistic bartending experience behind a fully functioning bar; complete with real ice and working soda & juice guns. We also have a jukebox, DJ booth and a casino room that is used to add to your entertainment and experience, as well as for private events. In addition, we now offer more advanced craft beer and wine seminars that can be taken to boost your bartending resume or simply for fun. We are far from the average bartending school--come see for yourself! History: Denise Mitchell is the owner and the primary instructor at the Bucks County School of Bartending. She put herself through college working as a bartender. Denise has a B.A. in English & Theatre Arts from Arcadia University and is a certified school teacher. After a few years of teaching English, Denise realized that she much preferred working in the bar/restaurant industry and decided to put all of her talents together. In addition to owning the school, Denise and her husband have owned two bars in the area where they have trained and have given many of their graduates their first start behind a bar. As bar owners they' re teaching from the best perspective and that's why their graduates make the best candidates for employment. Mission Statement: The Bucks County School of Bartending exists to meet the academic needs of those desiring to enter the bar industry. The administration and staff at our school are dedicated to creating a fun, professional and caring environment where learning is exciting to our students. All aspects of our organization are designed to meet the needs and accommodate individual learning styles so that every student can achieve success in learning the program. We also know that the quality of our service affects the quality of employees working in the hospitality industry--today and tomorrow.

First off, I should start by s...

First off, I should start by saying that what most people say about bartending schools being a waste of time and money is 90% true. Bucks County School of Bartending is that 10% exception. Every other bartending school teaches you billions of recipes which (1) you could learn at the bar/restaurant/club you work at from other bartenders and (2) isn’t very helpful since every bar will have special drinks they want you to make ONLY their way which you will have to learn all over again. Instead, Bucks County School of Bartending’s instructors give you a smaller list of drinks (which you will DEFINITELY make at any bar you work at) and focuses on bar procedures, drink/liquor history, bar safety, and a bunch of other MUCH more useful information which I was surprised to see that most bartenders in the work world know nothing about. On top of the great instruction and material taught here, Denise and her crew of instructors are by far the best teachers in the business. They all have tons of experience and really care about what they do. Classes were so much fun and I didn’t even realize how much I was learning while having such a great time with them. Onto the job referral program… This is another element of bartending schools that is more often than not complete nonsense. I’ve heard horror stories from bartenders who have gone to other bartending schools which never followed through in the job referral department. I’ve also heard of schools that refer you for jobs which hire you and then fire you after a few weeks because they are “overstaffed”. Denise and John (the co-owners of Bucks County School of Bartending) aren’t about any of that sketchiness. They are incredibly connected all throughout Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs. Denise even gave me leads on jobs in PITTSBURGH, PA when I left Philly for college!!!! After I graduated college and came home, Denise hooked me up with a gig in a Rittenhouse Square nightclub! These guys have really taken care of me even well after I graduated their school and I owe my success in the field of bartending to them. I don’t know of anywhere else that helps students out as much as Bucks County School of Bartending! Great school with a great crew and a great job referral program. 5 stars is too little for them.
