Worst dental experience I have ever had in my life and I have had some bad ones. This place is a joke, the women up front do not care about people at all. They change your appointments for no reason. They wait til you are in the chair and numbed up before they finally give you financial information even if you have been telling them repeatedly you need it prior to making more appointments. I ended up with dry socket and when I called for help they said I could not have pain meds. This place is an absolute nightmare. I have been in pain for the better part of two months now and all I ever get from them is that I can come sit in the office all day to see if they can fit me in they can't schedule an appointment for me.

Thank you Dr. Butler. Thank you last year for Dr. Ollson. I so appreciate your updating my dental work and dental needs. I have had dental care and needed updating after 15 years of not being able to see the dental for economic reasons. You both are great pros.

Medical Emergency is just another opportunity for them to make money. They request you come in at 8am and wait for any cancellations. That way, that 'hour' that they would have lost money is now filled by you. No one cancels that day, come back again tomorrow and do the same thing. Want pain pills for a split tooth...good luck...they treat you like you are seeking drugs. On the 3rd day of pain and being told to use asprin or IBProfin, I ended up in the ER and got relief. Now once you wait, and there is a cancellation, they won't fix the tooth, they will do an evaluation (another bill they can charge the insurance company) and you start all over again with showing up in the office at 8 waiting for a cancellation ... as you drove in high on pain pills. I have the OHP...so I don't have much of a choice with this 'current' problem...

HORRIBLE!!!! I have literally lost almost all of my molars over the last 4 years because of this hideous place! They gave me incorrect information about my coverage, claiming that my insurance covered nothing other than emergency extractions which was a blatant lie! I didn't find out until a year later, by which time the teeth that could have been saved where beyond saving, and my insurance was then reduced to what they originally claimed it was.

They do NOTHING pro-active to save teeth that are still able to be saved, they just wait for the teeth to die and cause you enough pain to have to have them pulled. And how could they possibly do anything proactively when they book you 6 - 8 month's out, by which time it's too late.

My most recent experience, last week, was a tooth extraction that took a solid hour to barbarically dig one tooth out. The amount of damage inside my mouth, on my face and in my jaw muscle is still excruciating 9 days later, to the point of not being able to sleep! I've been living on pureed soups and occasionally eating mashed potatoes or refried beans with a baby spoon because I can't open my mouth more than one fingers width or chew. 2 days after the extraction I woke with an enormous bruise on my face that looks like I got into a barroom brawl. And the gums on either side of the extraction are excessively swollen and extremely painful, even when I simply talk, because my cheek rubbing against it causes me horrible pain.

And yet the new dentist could not find it within her heart to give me a couple more days of pain pills so I can sleep! Well dentist and (dis)Advantage receptionist.... I hope you are having a wonderfully restful and sleep filled weekend. I think about you every moment that I lie awake at night in horrible pain unable to sleep! Love you guys... NOT!

Do yourself a favor and go to a different dentist if you have a choice! I've heard that their offices in Sisters and LaPine are not nearly as HORRIFIC as these people. I will be finding out soon and will let you know.

And now I just found out, because of searching for places to post reviews, that their records were recently hacked resulting in 150K+ peoples information, including SSN, have been stolen! JOY! At least “Advantage will cover the cost of Experian’s premium ProtectMyID Elite product for two years at no charge. “

My first experience at this clinic I waited TWO hours as a first time patient. I got a half-assed examination when the dentist finally arrived. She was unfriendly and treated me like I was a number. My second experience-- I got my teeth cleaned...this time the hygienist was so rude, when I went to close my mouth while the suction tube was in my mouth she said in a very stern voice, " DO NOT CLOSE YOUR MOUTH!"....."There are new studies that say that patients aren't supposed to close their mouth anymore due to bacteria"...

uhhh thanks for letting me know advanced, PSYCHO!! She was also SO unbelievably rough with scraping plaque off my teeth that my gums were bleeding profusely, and an hour after my visit I could barely chew food. She must have just graduated from a community college where she worked on cavemen! The "medical professionals" at Advantage Dental are horrible and unprofessional. If you can't afford dental insurance, my advice for you would be to invest in dental insurance and go ANYWHERE else

Frankly, I switched dental plans so I would not have to go to this advantage dental office anymore. Bad experiences every time, the few times I was there. Bad attitudes with some of the staff. I won't get into the part where they extracted one of my gold crowns and then refused to give it to me, because they said it was bio hazardous waste. It came from my own mouth and was my own tooth for heaven sake. Not like it came from the mouth of someone with Ebola.

The dentist in this office ref...

The dentist in this office refused to do a cleaning, unless I agreed to a comprehensive exam that included 18 sets of x-ray films. Fine. Dental radiology is a great diagnostic tool, and routine x-rays are recommended by the ADA. Dental X-rays use ionizing radiation, albeit at very low levels, that has been linked to tissue and organ damage and the growth of benign or malignant tumors. Radiation risk is also cumulative: the more radiation exposure, the higher the risk. In consideration of the dentist need to include radiology to diagnose disease between the teeth, I agreed to a set of four bitewing X-rays. Despite my willingness to compromise, the dentist told me to find another dentist! All, I wanted was to clean my teeth! The action of this dentist is unreasonable. Is it not better dental practice to clean the teeth, than doing nothing? I certainly think so... I am reporting the practice to Better Business Bureau and the Oregon Dental Board.

Bad attitudes at the front desk.

The first time I went there, my son had an appointment... I walked in and the lady said "Oh he doesn't have an appointment today, that was yesterday." I told them that's not true because I had made the appointment 2 months earlier and wrote it down on the calendar and saved it in my phone. I know for a fact it was the day I came in, or they changed it without notifying me. So I rescheduled the appointment, and later took him to a different dentist completely. I decided to make an appointment for myself there. I walked in to make the appointment, got the appointment card, and left. Came back on my appointment day and the SAME lady said, "I think your appointment was yesterday." I told her that "I think not." And pulled out the appointment card. She had this smirk on her face the whole time. The dentist I saw was great, but as for the front desk-NO. They are the "face" of the office and they do not paint a pretty picture with their attitudes.

Horrible experience both times! Figured I would give them another shot and the second time was even worse. First time some kid poked and jabbed me and left my jaw aching for 3 days. Second time I made an appt 2 months prior and then got a sitter and Waited 2 hours to sit down and tell me that I need to make another appt.

To be totally honest. Never really trust the Dental Clinics. They are mainly great for cleaning, check ups and small things like that. But when it comes to extensive care, like say you have cavaties and they dont hurt but they are problem zones in the near future, They'll tell you to get a crown and a rootcanal, when that is the legit end of all ends to go on--before extraction.

The ladies that work there are sweet, but they were dead tired and seemed over worked, so that's a concern of mine and their well being.

I feel like it's completely leechy and sleezy. I do not plan on getting my fillings done there, would rather do it with a place that has had good reviews and work out a payment plan until insurance and job is set into stone.

For those who are having legit issues. Try out Mosiac and go in for the free dental if it is at all possible. If not, then please take care of yourself the best you can and make sure you know what you're getting into, when it comes to Dental Clinics. Don't make them make you pay for something that should not be even going on, especially when you can save a tooth.

negligent practice

I went in today with the telltale signs of an abscessed tooth. They said it was only my wisdom tooth coming in. they sent me away with no antibiotics or painkillers. I went for a second opinion, and they diagnosed me with a serious abscess that needed immediate medical treatment.

I also find them negligent! Hygienest chipped my tooth, they couldn't find the issue each time I came in, then when they did find it...they fixed it but fractured a tooth next to it! I either had to pay for a root canal on my own or have the tooth removed for free. I had to have the tooth removed because my insurance didn't cover it! I find them dishonest and not fair in their practice. However, most of the ladies upfront are very nice.

Negligent

I went in for a routine exam two months ago and was told I had a cavity that needed filled asap. An appt. was scheduled for three weeks later. The day prior to my appt. they called and told me the dentist was going to gone the next day and they had to cancel my appt. She told me they could not get me in for two more months. After two months I went into my appt and because they took so long to get me in that the simple cavity turned into needing a root canal that my insurance won't pay for. Worst part is that the dentist drilled my tooth out before she realized it needed a root canal. On top of everything I'm pregnant and can't have pain meds for the pain they have inflicted on me! This place is a joke!!.
