I enjoyed the Certification program very much. I feel I will probably stay in touch with my cohort for my lifetime. We came from various backgrounds - VERY different. Many different belief boxes and what I loved most was that in the end, we are a family. There was an opening of new ways to look at things, and some of remembering of old ways to look at things; all of which are very dear to my heart. Slav is not a PR person, What impresses me about him, is his passion to make a difference in the world, and his vision to see and move into the URBAN permaculture and Social permaculture part of the puzzle.
What I love best about our class was watching the interactions. I have a personal belief that if I wish my outer world to be more at Peace, I must first look inside myself to see what I am not at peace within me and find a way to become one with it. This happened in our class dynamics, and I was grateful to see it at work during our time together.

not really,Because I am already an avid gardener and thought I may get even more tips to try. ,Not really. He seems like a good guy. ,I wish the videos would load quicker and I may have not gotten frustrated and stopped watching the videos.,Learning new techniques and theories that you can apply to your own yard for a more sustainable future is an exciting treat.,I wanted to buy the videos, because the load time is very slow on my computers. I would have liked it more if I could afford it. ,yes, but I don't have any money right now to be spending on something that will be seen as a hobby to others. I need a career first, and then can maybe afford to learn more, and build my own business one day in the future.

I think the marketing is very effective and the content offered is very good. One thing that I would recommend is to make both Gaia s Garden and at the very least Permaculture: A Design Manual required reading.I did have a bit of confusion as to both the expectations and restrictions of the course. The 72+ hours of class time seems to be fairly accurate. However, once enrolled in the course (or even before) it would be good to know the exact number of lectures needed to satisfy the requirements. Telling students that lectures 1-81 are required viewing rather than just telling them that all the lectures are required would allow students to plan their time more accordingly. Lectures under the lecture drop down go up to 273 so it really isn t clear. The expiration date of one year needs to be more clear at signup. I did not even need to acknowledge that I agree to the terms and conditions at checkout, but only found out after the fact that I am bound to these terms and conditions that were not even able to to be seen - terms and conditions is a very small sentence at the bottom of the checkout page that take you to a whole different website. I don t think that constitutes a legally binding agreement. I have processed payments for a long time now and I don t think that setup would win a chargeback dispute. I have been practicing permaculture at my home for awhile now, but just based on books, observations, and talking to people, so I wanted to find out more as I know that this is the sustainable way to landscape. Additionally, I see water as a very finite resource that is often abused and overused unnecessarily. I am on the cusp of launching a local rainwater harvesting company and I wanted to use this certification as a value add. I also needed some help with creating a plan for my own residence. However, I see now that RWH is much more than just setting up rain barrels so I have learned a lot more that I can implement. I hope that this doesn t get me into trouble, but here are my thoughts....Max Meyer is awesome. He shares a lot of great info and experiences and is very illustrative/descriptive. Larry Korn is very informative and knowledgeable but just really slow. Him constantly coughing up his phlegm is also pretty unprofessional. Having a glass of water on-hand would help this but it really irks me. Good overall. Good functionality and amazing content. My only bad comments relate to the accurate course description and agreement on terms. work at own pace please see above yes, i already purchased. However, if I was aware of the one year expiration, I would have worked through the lectures first before signing up. Now, I have put myself if a tight timeframe to finish or be penalized for an extension. I don t think that is fair.

the description is good, I liked the Facebook link. I got excited about the discount, and the free book down load.,I have a certificate in permaculture design that I did back in 1993 at Taheke Falls Tree Farm NZ. I first learned of Permaculture while studying landscape architecture in 1991. I have always been conscious of the methodology from then on. I recently purchased some land & live at an old store that has an Inn on the upper level with 5 rooms and a galley kitchen. I will use the Inn property for my design certification, which will include a classroom to teach Permaculture. So I took the course to become certified & then go on to become a teacher. ,I like the course instructors, I like that they are very knowledgeable! I like when the instructor has clear and decisive topics listed, and goes through them one by one. I know that permaculture is very intensive, and that comes with experience, I think in the classroom it needs to stay structured.,The information is there I just got lost each time I logged in, I could never remember where I had been. It would be nice to have some type of track record that records your progress as you go through the lectures & maybe there is I just don't see it. Also found it difficult to get to the certification process.,I liked the depth of the course, a lot of information, talented instructors, very good over all.,I think the camera & sound would be first, then maybe some more hands on demonstration of how to build stuff; beds, chicken tractors, worm farm, compost bin, you know stuff like that.,I am in the certification program, thanks for everything!

No To learn how to become self-sustainable in the most eco-friendly way. Larry Korn is remarkable (!) and Max is inspiring...I just wish I could have seen their slides properly too! It kept changing and it seemed like different platforms at times. Two separate passwords was a pain and there was no message when I failed the multiple choice to remind me that I had to wait 48 hours before I could take it again...or indeed if there was a limit to how many times I could take it. Being able to download the videos to watch again is great and also having ample time to watch, learn and experience too worked well. Streamline the link between the free course and the paid certification - for example: - my profile should be automatically updated to say Certified Member - One login ID and password - add the course to My Profile so it s all in one place.- Allow projects to be submitted in PDF format - there are many examples of other courses projects online and all are in PDF (this allows sharing on Slideshare and so more visability for OPS).Plus, I found some of the videos annoying and lacking content, especially when there was a lot of participant noise - I think I skipped about 5 or more because of this (mostly Jay s videos...sorry Jay, I really would have loved the information you had to share but the participants got in the way!).Finally, it would have been great to have access to the slides shown to the participants in the videos! Done! More to add some credibility to what I m doing, which is generally seen as a bit off whack still ;) Just a great big debt of gratitude to Larry for his sincerity and for sharing his passions and knowledge...totally awesome!

They are great i really feel how passionate they are i like the way the conversation flows i find it easy to stay awake and the information is easy to retain i feel because im not in the class room more graphics would be useful when describing technique or design yes i thought i already was in the certification program i wanted to help myself to have good food with out spending a ton of money on setup. Now im very inspired to share the information i have learned and make the world aware for them selves. Keep up the good work and thank you

Not really. Once I heard about it, I started on it. No marketing required for me since I heard about it from a like minded friend and I am convinced permaculture is what we need to be doing. I had seen a couple of videos on YouTube about permaculture and they convinced me that permaculture is the right way to really engage with our environment properly. I don t know enough about permaculture to pursue it for personal use without further information. I don t have enough money to hire the local permaculture experts to show me. Right away, this course seemed to have valid, substantial, genuine information so it would not be a waste of time. I have only viewed 2 instructors so far (I m on lecture 5 or 6) The first one was difficult for me to stick with for the introduction and first lecture, but he grows on you because he is soooo sincere, and though it doesn t sound like it at the time he is lecturing, when I start thinking about what I just learned, it is quite a bit. I don t know why I can t sign in every time - sometimes I get sent to something calling itself word press; when I do get signed in and choose a lecture number, if I want to watch more than one in succession, I find I have to go back and resign in to get to the page where the lectures are in numerical order. I feel like I am going to know enough about permaculture to have the confidence that I am doing it right or where to be able to find answers to my questions as they come up while I m living a permaculture(d) life. I am grateful for this website and all the people who work at it to make this possible. I don t know that there is anything yet. I am really just beginning down this path. But down the road, if something comes to me that you could do to make it better, I will surely let you know. My dad was in business for himself - his first lesson to me was: "If you like it, tell everyone. If there is something you don t like, tell the owner. She will fix it and respect you. " I m leaving that hanging out there. Right now I m such a sponge for this information. If I feel I really can develop a talent for this, I will want to join it. Just thank you for this inclusive, wonderful, meaningful, constructive, loving opportunity!

I still have not finished the course, because I just don't always have 'quiet' time to my self. I find some of the lessons hard to hear, and people will speak without a mike. Also people just get up and walk in front of the camera which is a bit annoying. The subject matter is awesome. I read Gaia's Garden and some other books as well as online articles. I wish I had the funds to simply attend a program somewhere.

I m pleased with the course so far, I think the description and marketing was good (it got me to purchase it). The 45% discount was phenomenal. I was going to take a residential permaculture course, but that fell through, and then I found this opportunity. The instructors have a great depth of experience and insight, I m delighted to have gotten to know them. That said, the lack of editing on the lectures, and the (usually) fixed camera position (especially on the on site trips) detracts from the benefit that one could get from the lectures and the clarity of communication. The website is great, it s got lots of depth which I haven t plumbed in it s entirety yet. That said it is annoying to have to wade through the lectures to get to the next one (i.e.the website doesn t seem to update a cookie to take you to where you last were). That s my biggest complaint. it is definitely an expanding experience. I really enjoyed the different perspectives and passions of the instructors. I think the lectures could use some editing, and perhaps some more organization. I have joined the certificate program. It s a bit of a slog getting though the lectures (but I m just wrapping it up, on the sustainability interviews now, and I have just finished reading through Permaculture - A designer s manual. I m glad I ve gotten into the course, and after doing a design for my property I have some friends who have expressed interest in design work on theirs.I ve been interested in permaculture for years, but doing the course has gotten me into learning specifics and doing things with the concepts. Doing the permaculture certificate course is a significant commitment .It is worth the time and effort as I ve developed practical insights into what can be done to address our local and global problems, and to better understand and so enjoy our natural world. I m looking forward to implementing some permaculture designs, and promoting some of the insights and techniques of permaculture to my various communities. Thanks for the opportunity to do the course.

It s well stated and marketed! I m looking to become a Permaculture Designer in my personal and professional life. I would like to see the Instructors filmed/taped while they are teaching an actual class, filled with students; as opposed to lecturing to a camera. The material doesn t flow as nicely; some of the instructors seem to hem and haw quite a bit and the editing is a bit rough around the edges. Well done. It would be helpful to me to have the course streamlined more to fit my overall objectives by asking me certain questions, I could be directed to which course material to focus on and in what order. It would be nice also to have instructors reach out via email to introduce themselves and avail themselves in some manner which encourages support for completion of the coursework. Many people, like myself have learning disabilities which impede our ability to complete the coursework in a timely manner or, at all without some semblance of support. It s too easy to forget about it. I don t really feel like a student nor do I feel any connection with the Instructors or, other students. Creating a more "Alive " course study would benefit many people. I have considered it. 2 things, the general opinion of the Permaculture Instructors that I have become exposed to personally and, via Website Blogs and Forums have vehemently panned this course work; almost shamelessly. This causes me to pause . Secondly, financially I am conservative (only working p/t right now) and although the course appears to be offered at a great price, I hesitate due to my learning disability where on line course work seems to easily fall into an abyss or, black hole. I need stronger structure (deadlines) and mentorship (someone I can be held accountable to and who is available, even if only via email, to assist me with questions); as well, I learn best via hands on applications so if there is a way to get students connected by Cities/Towns to work on projects together again, with the online advisement of an instructor, this would be very good! The jury is still out with me about this School. It has to do something to recover from it s tarnished reputation. without the support of some of the present day, top instructors in the US, I don t see how you will move forward sustainably.,

Well, I had meant to eventually study the course, but I answered the insistent emails about not missing a discount on the certification course and paid/signed up for it. The truth is a lot of things are going on in my life that it would have been better had I begun later on it. At the present time it will be difficult for me to complete it within the twelve months. I think highly of the principles, and I had studied through the same basic textbook twice fifteen years ago, so it is something important to me. I'm just afraid that the current effort will be wasted.,Same reason as above, the insistent marketing made me feel like I was going to miss something, but now that I signed up I feel that my money might be misapplied because it could have happened at a better time in the future for me.,I have not viewed enough videos to answer definitively. In the few videos I have seen, including the introduction by Larry Korn, they are informative and inspirational.,Looks nice, feels nice.,I have my specific issue that I feel that it would have worked better for me if I could have started it in my own time, which I mentioned in the first few questions above.,Same as above.,I already have, and it may have been premature. See above.,

It must have worked, I signed up. I really like the idea of returning to what nature would do, getting away from the practices that are bad for the earth and people and cause more problems. Each of the instructors has his own strengths, but it is hard to fit different instruction styles into video. There are a lot of stories, some of which have clear lessons in them. In others, it s not so clear. Obviously, lecture styles work most easily with the instructor having a microphone. The knowledge of the instructors is obvious, so it mainly comes down to delivery and organization. It is difficult to follow the lectures in the order in which they are numbered. Sometimes there is a link to the next video, sometimes not. Also, the order that the videos are numbered in does not seem to correspond with the order they were made in- the instructors refer back to other topics, "remember when we talked about that this morning " and the topic hasn t come up yet in the order they are presented. There is not a lot of discussion under "discussion " - although there are interesting discussions under comments in some videos. Video students don t know if anyone else is taking the course at the same time. The sound quality is the thing most often commented on by the video students. I was able to turn my sound over 100% for some videos, but still could only hear the instructor and not the students making comments and discussion. The visual aids - white board, computer, video, etc. were practically useless to the video students. More helpful was telling us the page to refer to in one of the books, but only if we have that book. Recreations of the visuals as close up shots either separately or on a split screen would be helpful. The magazine articles are very nice to have available. It would be nice if they could open without stopping the video. I had to open them in another window to do that. It was a good course mostly because it was good information that isn t compiled anywhere else. I have purchased a few of the books referred to and will continue to study on my own. I recognize that these are the pioneers and the chance to hear from them and hear the stories is valuable. I can do it on my own in my own time- that is important to me. The audio problems and the white board, computer and video issues are the most important things to fix. After that, the course experience would be improved by organizing the information in different ways. Maybe number the videos under each topic, sort of like an outline format, but not sequentially throughout the whole site. The lectures are not in numerical order under the lectures tab, and they can be hard to find. Create a "syllabus " that gives an overview of what the lectures in each section are going to address. Different formats could be more interactive in addition to the lectures. Many people learn fine with just lectures, while others need to be able to ask questions, or solve problems in order to internalize the information. Often I got the feeling that because the instructors knew so much about their topics, they had trouble understanding what the students did not know. Because it s prerecorded the amount of human interaction is limited, but a "see what you learned " quiz every section or so would provide some feedback for students informally. I have considered the certification program, but as an individual and not a contractor, I can t see it being worth the investment. I would love to be able to say "I am a certified permaculture designer " but I still would not be a licensed landscaper, or anything else recognized by the mainstream community. As I am not working in this field, the minimal investment is still too much. I love that the information is free and available and I hope that as the website progresses you will one day have a "certificate of completion " available for a lower fee, and a designer certificate with a higher fee for those who will be able to use it.

As a migrant worker in Saudi Arabia, it was almost impossible to take PDC, because it would take me away from work and cost a fortune. Until this amazing offer from Regenerative Leadership Institute came and opened up an exceptional opportunity for people like me via online learning. The course is exhaustive and very informative. The learning approach is effective. Thank you Vlad and everyone at Regenerative Leadership Institute for this unforgettable experience to become a Permaculturist and a carer of the earth.

So far, all I’ve been able to enjoy are your email messages...as I have yet to actually take the course that I purchased. Soon after I signed up, I found myself submersed in the middle of a huge remodeling project that has lasted for many months.

I'm in a new place, in the high desert/mountain area of northern New Mexico. My little one acre property will need a bit of native landscaping come Spring. I plan to create little greenhouse on my front kitchen porch, and hopefully a vegetable garden one of these days.

I appreciate just knowing you’re there, and staying in touch via your informative messages.
