A Word About Saint Andrew s Saint Andrew's is an Episcopal parish within the Diocese of New York. It is a vibrant community that celebrates the faith and sacraments entrusted to us by the Apostles, in the boundless freedom of the Gospel of grace. Our bishop is the Rt. Rev. Mark S. Sisk. The bishop suffragan is the Rt. Rev. Catherine Roskam. The source and summit of our common life in the Spirit is our weekly celebration of the Holy Eucharist wherein the one enduring sacrifice of Christ is made present and effective in our lives. Eucharistic Worship at Saint Andrew's is both deeply traditional and genuinely contemporary. It is true to our apostolic roots, expressed in reformation simplicity and open to the call of the twenty-first century. All baptized persons who discern the Eucharist to be a sharing in the body and blood of the Risen Christ are invited to join in the reception of Holy Communion. The members of our parish come from a wide variety of religious traditions within the Christian family. Formal membership in Episcopal Church is not a requirement for membership in the parish, but is readily facilitated if and when the Spirit moves individuals to make this decision and commitment. At Saint Andrew's all are accepted as they are and no one is judged. The faith family at Saint Andrew's makes every effort to be welcoming and embracing without being overwhelming or invasive. All parishioners contribute their time and talents to the nurture and support of our fellowship in Christ and maintenance of the historic and beautiful sanctuary in which we gather for worship. Our faith family is committed to serving the needs of those who live on the social and economic margins of society. Parish outreach efforts are directed toward the hungry and the homeless in the wider community. The parish operates a Food Pantry and provides planting space for the Beacon Community Garden Project. Through the Martin Luther King Cultural Center the parish makes available after school learning programs for children, meals for seniors and employment-seeking training and employment for our youth. The MLKCC also hosts BOCES sponsored ESL and GED programs. The parish provides meeting space for AA and NA Twelve Step Programs. If you would be a first time visitor, please know that you are most welcome. If you have visited with us before, we would be truly happy to see you again. If you are a believer looking for a faith family that you might call home, please know that we already embrace you as a sister or brother in Christ. If you are searching for God or a deeper knowledge of God, please know that you are not alone. 9: 00 am Holy Eucharist with Sermon Vacation Bible School Each summer the parish runs a week-long vacation bible school. Saint Andrew s is a diverse and inclusive family if believers called to follow Christ, Our Lord, on a journey of faith. Our mission is to:
