Boone's Butcher Shop was founded in 1946 by Luel A. Boone. Boone started the company as a seasonal business, slaughtering hogs during the months of November and December. Boone saw the company rapidly expand into a year around business, and decided to add a retail market around the year of 1954. Throughout the years, Boone continually saw his company grow and felt it necessary to expand the business many more times. In the 1980's Luel A. Boone's son, Jerry, and his wife, Donna, assumed daily managerial duties taking over the company Luel A. had watched develop over the past 35 years. Jerry and Donna continued to run the business through the 80's and 90's and into the new century. In April of 2004, fire destroyed 80% of the processing facility and left the Boone's in a major dilemma, to rebuild or not to rebuild. With the backing, encouragement and support of customers, family and friends Jerry, Donna, and their son, Matthew were able to rebuild a larger, state of the art processing facility that opened in the fall of 2005. Once the new processing facility had been completed, we began partnering with local farmers to develop value added products in order to promote the sales of locally produced meat.As the local community has grown, so too, has Boone's. What began as a purely family employed business, from Luel A., his wife, his brother, his sister, and all of his children at one time or another, has grown to a business employing as many as 35 employees in the fall, our busiest season. Many local high school students have trained in our facility as one of their first jobs as teenagers.

All these people must be going to a different Boones because I have always been treated well at Boones and always have gotten quality meat and products. They must be doing something right because the store is always crowded when I go there. Will continue shopping there and telling others about them.

Everytime i come here the employees are rude as heck and like one of the previous rating stated... they act as if they could care less if they have your business or not. In my opinion they have gotten a little too big for their britches. I recently started going to Faulkner Meats in taylorsville because i was tired of the quality of the meat going downhill and being treated like crap. The employees at faulkners are always very polite as soon as you walk in the door, if they are busy helping another customer they atleast ackknowledge you are there. Their prices are way cheaper and in my opinion the meat tastes a lot better. I also love their head butcher George, he really knows his stuff.

Disappointed

Today is the 12th of November at 10 am. I just now left Boones and I am so adamant about letting you know the service I experienced and witnessed today that I am writing immediately after exiting. I have been coming to Boones for years and always rec'd decent service. The service today was far from decent. I had an f bomb thrown to me today for asking where something was at. A girl in a cat snow cap asking where the "freakin" tape is at. No one working asking anyone if they needed or help and no one telling any customer that they would be with them in a minute. One guy came in asked where to take a deer and the guy told him with the most rudest answer.. And before the guy could walk out the worker was saying "how hard is it to know where to drop your deer off with a huge sign saying drop deer off here" I am appalled. The workers were openly bickering and Arguing. It was the most unprofessional staff I have ever witnessed. It was not even busy with customers. Maybe 4... And here the staffs stress and rudeness was already maxed out. I'm very disappointed and hope that some changes are made so I can recommend others to Boones like I have for years. Until then lawrenceburg citizens will not hear the recommendation from me.

i took in 3 pigs. i didn't get all the meat back at all. u have 2 be on top of it when u go in there cause they don't always bring out all the meat. they leave some in the back. it's like they take the good meat and sale it in the front of the store and give u just what ever. also when u go in there, they aren't to friendly, they act as if they careless if in shop there or have anything proessed there or not.

I DO NOT RECOMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE FOR THEIR BUTCHING SERVICES.

I was VERY unhappy with the customer service they provided! The meat had a VERY BAD smell to it, when I took it back they told me there was nothing wrong with it and would not refund my money or exchange it. You would be better off going to Kroger!!
