I highly recommend Zen Guitar Studio for anyone interested in learning to play the classical guitar. The studio is conveniently located in Fells Point. The instructor is congenial and truly knows his craft and how to communicate it to students. After starting one-on-one weekly lessons, I realized that this by far the preferred way to learn. You can't really learn much from YouTube guitar tutorials. Just like a ballet dancer can't learn to dance by watching videos. The in-person lessons are extremely important for such an exact art as playing the classical guitar - there are so many subtle nuances that would be lost otherwise. I've met some of the other students and we all seem to have some things in common: Quality/perfectionism, learning good habits and not backtracking, patience and the joy of learning from an experienced professional. If you'd like to really learn the guitar, I would steer clear of those YouTube videos and get some lessons going. It's the best and fastest way to learn.
