If you live between Delnor and Mercy, go to Delnor. I have lived in Aurora unfortunately since 2002. I have gone there twice. Once when my baby had a high fever and rash over his trunk and no one could figure it out. These stupid, reckless, unprofessional nurses stuck my baby over ten times to try and get a vein when they had a phlebotomist on staff. You MORONS! As a new mom I didn’t know I could ask for a specialist. My baby was writhing in pain and they asked US TO HOLD HIM DOWN. Those nurses are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to being a professional. They are the ones who couldn’t get jobs at better hospitals. They are just just terrible. I will never forget my toddlers face. If I could slap these dumb women today I would. I will post a picture of the toddler you tortured. Another time I went in for chest pains. I am 5’9” and 150 and have an athletic build. Another unprofessional nurse had the nerve to say I was overweight! Are you kidding me????? She said you wouldn’t have chest pains if you weren’t overweight. No one in my life would classify me as an overweight individual and if I were...what an unprofessional troll to say that to a patient with chest pains. It was within the first ten minutes I was there. Just completely awful experiences. It is by far the worst hospital in the western burbs.

Do Not go to this hospital! I was visiting a relative in the Behavioral dept were patients were watching TV of a show on how to kill your wife and baby! The show they were watching showed step by step on how to do it. The nurses were not paying any attention to the patients but gossiping to each other. Then when we tried to have our relative transferred to another hospital they wouldn't do it. They started telling lies about the patient to us. All day long the patient asked to see the social worker and at the end of the day the social worker never saw the patient and the patient was told she was too busy to see her. The nurse name G was VERY rude. We were on the speaker phone with SW D who would tell us lies and would not listen to us. G has a problem with me when I said to her about having this problem to step out side we can talk about it she called security to have me removed. After I was removed G and this other very large nurse threaten the relative patient. I will be calling a major complaint not only with the hospital but with board of hospital. I will work my way to have this hospital investigated.

I have an immediate family mem...

I have an immediate family member that has been in ICU for 6 days. While we appreciate hard work that most of the nurses have been doing, it will be reported to administration how one shift of nurses cannot get themselves off their chairs or away from their computers, looking at wedding pictures and vacation plans. Using their cell phones to take pictures of their butts, laughing and fixing their hair for most of the day. We did not ask for pillows to be fluffed, we only asked for things that we could not do and that we felt were of a medical person duty. Their was absolutley NO professionalism shown and terrible bedside manner. I do not know why this group of nurses were assigned to ICU, let alone any other ward.

All hospital patients need to ...

All hospital patients need to stop their complaining and think about what the're there for. You are in the hospital for medical treatment. The nurses and doctors are professionals and competent in what they are there to do... to save your but. Not kiss it. The hospital is not a hotel. Patients have no idea what it takes to be a nurse or doctor. Patient's survival and health needs are the priority of the nurse and doctor. If you expect to be waited on hand and foot and think you're the only patient in the hospital, think again. There could be a patient in the room next to you having a stroke or heart attack, or can't breath and all you can think about is your pillow wasn't fluffed when you called 5 minutes ago and you think the service sucks and the nurses are incompetent. Well guess what That nurse you think is incompetent is in that room next door saving someone's life. Much bigger priority than you unfluffed pillow. Nurses and doctors are human beings too. They can't be everywhere at the same time. Ther are trained on what is a priority and to address top priority first. The patient doesn't know what or who is top priority, the nurses and doctors do. Leave it up to the to decide who or what comes first.

I was at Provena Mercy Hospita...

I was at Provena Mercy Hospital on 7/11 for surgery that required 1-1/2 days in ICU. The nurses were rude, and did not want to cooperate when I told them I was in so much pain I could hardly stand it. The ICU unit was unbelievably loud and the room was not very clean.

After being taken up to a regular room, I was put into a room with a woman who was about 98 years old and dying. I am 50 years old and was in for a procedure that was somewhat minor. This room smelt of poop and pee and the woman would get irate with the nurses every once in a while. I was unable to sleep the entire time due to being the first patient in a bed and nurses came in all the time to see the older woman. The CNA's would change this woman's diaper and throw them in the garbage can at night and not empty them until mid-morning. The alarms on the lady's monitor's would go off ALL OF THE TIME (and it was extremely loud) and I would have to call the nurses to come and turn it off, then the nurses would get attitude with me.

Nurses REALLY need to be trained in how to treat patients and bedside manner.

I would NOT EVER RECOMMEND this hospital to anyone. NOR WILL I EVER GO BACK TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN.
