I have been a student at the Northern Shaolin Academy for over five years. I do not know where to begin to say what good the Northern Shaolin and it's fine teachers have done for me. Master Norman Smith is an amazing teacher! He is patient, knowledgeable, and has a knack for making you feel like you are the most important person in the world. He wants you to become the best you possibly can. He encourages his students to work hard and to live , and train, up to their potential. My other teachers (Sifus Peter, John, Billy, Weipo and Ray) have also helped me immensely. All are very encouraging to their students. Each, in their way, has contributed their own unique skills and perspective to make me the Tai Chi practitioner I am today. I am proud to know all my teachers. They have a passion for Tai Chi and it shows in everything they do. This school is an oasis for me. No matter how much stress assaults me in my day, when I walk into Northern Shaolin, I am at peace with the world. My Tai Chi practice has instilled in me a calm I never had before. I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life and the credit goes to Tai Chi and the authentic way it is taught here.
