I had high hopes for my first visit to Tom + Chee. I was very excited to see that a location had opened nearby, and I made plans to have lunch there as soon as I found out. Plus, who doesn't love a good grilled cheese sandwich?! Seriously, point them out so I can make sure I don't associate with them (kidding).

I had the Tom + Chee, just to get an idea of their run-of-the-mill sandwich. It was just okay to me. I only ate half, which I guess is a good thing since I'm supposed to be on a diet anyway. I think it's because I was expecting the tomatoes to be cooked vs. cold. I loved that they gave you the option to get a little bit of soup to dip your sandwich in, and I actually found the amount that they served to be pretty generous for a $1. It was enough for me to enjoy--I ordered the creamy tomato soup.

I also had the green goat salad, which was pretty good.

There are other items on menu I'd like try, so I'll be back despite not being blown away during my first visit.
