Provost Academy Georgia

100 Edgewood Ave NE Ste 915, Atlanta, GA 30303

The vision for Provost Academy Georgia is to deliver a challenging, enriching, and meaningful curriculum through individualized instruction that starts with an evaluation of the students current abilities and builds from there. The individualized instruction will allow Provost Academy to provide remediation to those students in need and also allow students to excel.

Provost Academy educates and respects the individual student while realizing that school diversity ultimately creates a well-rounded culture of respect and understanding. By providing students with cutting-edge technology, customized core curriculum, and an additional focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) electives, Provost Academy students will develop the skills necessary to succeed in todays high-tech world. Provost Academy believes that as students meet high academic expectations and achieve academic success, they will synthesize these skills into the core knowledge-base necessary to become intelligent, ethical, responsible and civic-minded adults.

The mission of Provost Academy is to provide all students the opportunity and resources needed to graduate from high school and prepare students to succeed in higher education and ultimately in todays global economy. With courses delivered via the internet, students may work either remotely or at a specifically configured Magic Johnson Bridgescape Learning Center.

Provost Academy intends to serve student populations underserved or un-served by traditional educational institutions, as well as those who need additional flexibility to complete their high school diploma. These populations include: at-risk students, including those who are pregnant and/or socially marginalized, students who have a high preponderance of dropping out or becoming otherwise disengaged from their schools, and students whose educational needs are not met by their local school. These students often are capable of doing the work required for a high school diploma but fall victim to social factors that create a barrier to success and an impetus for failure. Additionally, Provost Academy will serve gifted students whose current schools cannot offer the robust, varied curriculum that our center will provide. These groups of students will most benefit from Provost Academys focus on individualized instruction coupled with the rigor needed to shape a well-educated and engaged student.

Provost Academy will offer multiple levels of student support that include: robust planning and communication tools, a team of Advisors that works closely with each student on course selection and scheduling throughout the school year, highly qualified teachers who will form personal relationships with every student, a dedicated guidance staff, and an experienced and efficient technical support team.
