Joe Mariani's business has a profoundly negative impact on the lives of the Aston, PA families whose homes border his property, as is evidenced by the numerous fines his business has received from the township for violating municipal ordinances. On an almost daily basis, families in the Aston community are awakened the cacophony of heavy construction equipment at or before 7am, and prepare for their homes to shake on their foundations for hours on end. This business has been visited by the police on numerous occasions as a result of complaints from the community, and has repeatedly been the subject of environmental monitoring (paid for by Aston Township) due to ordinance violation concerns. Families in the surrounding community deeply resent Joseph F. Mariani Contractors, Inc., and numerous homeowners have pursued and/or are pursuing legal action against this business and the contractors who work with him.
