Serving Aston area since 1977.  Internationally recognized Master Instructors.

Unlike most schools, we do not require our students to sign any type of contract. Some schools will ask you to sign a long-term agreement for anywhere from six months to five years. Our "No Contracts" policy is an important part of the positive chemistry within our schools. If at some point you or your child determine that you no longer wish to continue, there is no contract binding you to payment or attending lessons. We believe in being a Martial Arts school first and a business second. Along the same vein, there are no sign-up fees, no expensive "clubs" that require additional payment, and no marketing gimmicks.

Aside from the physical aspect...

Aside from the physical aspects of martial arts, the mental discipline and fortitude one develops at Amkor to reach black belt level and beyond really does translate to life outside the dojang (gym).

As a student since 10 years old, it has helped me achieve academically, athletically, and now as an adult, in the business world.

Master Scott is learned in not only Tang Soo Do but also in many other martial arts. Thus he is able to address"why" a technique is performed a certain way and translate that in a way that helps one grasp the concepts and details.

Amkor has also afforded me the opportunity to compete beyond our style and geography, to truly measure oneself against the best from around the world. Although, not a requirement in the curriculum, the opportunity is there for those who want it.

I am lucky my mother found that dojang in Aston so long ago (plus we drove in from N. Wilmington 2x/week, it was worth it)!

I began attending classes Amko...

I began attending classes at Amkor when I was six years old, and have now trained there for almost 16 years. In that time, I have received not only excellent martial arts instruction, but also invaluable lessons in leadership, perseverance, work ethic, and personal responsibility. Attending classes at Amkor does not just help you learn karate, but helps you to grow as a person. The instructors are personable and care for each student as an individual. Amkor’s “no contracts” policy means that instructors see every student as important, and go out of their way to make sure students succeed both in and out of the gym. I would highly recommend Amkor Karate to anyone seeking quality martial arts instruction.
