Petersen Specialty Rubber Stamp and Engraving Company was established in 1958 by Lyle and Martha Petersen. Like many small rubber stamp companies of the time they only made "hand stamps." At that time Rubber Stamps were made using "hand-set type, " a very common manufacturing process, but very outdated by today's standards. Self-Inking stamps were just barely entering the market. Petersen Specialty, as we are most commonly referred to, was purchased by Tom and Carol Dassler in 1978. Very quickly the Dasslers realized the importance of updating the manufacturing processes and product lines. They were the first in the Denver area to offer the now popular "Printy" ( Trodat ) self-inking stamp and in 2000 they were the first in the Denver area and one of the first in the United States to offer the "new" flash concept stamp, the "MaxLight." Last summer, we had the opportunity to buy Leyba's Rubber Stamp and Seal company. Tom and Carol had know Don Leyba and his daughter Juanita for many years and were honored to have the opportunity to incorporate their business into ours. We are a family company, our third generation is now becoming involved in our daily operations. We pride ourselves in customer service and including our customers as our friends.
