First of all, PLEASE ignore the previous negative reviews for this business. The reviews are older and the dentists who are mentioned are no longer assocaited with this practice. The current dentist is Dr. Dan Hartwig and he is excellent. He is kind, gentle, considerate and skillful. Two days ago I had 17 extractions which he performed efficiently AND painlessly. Even the injections he administered were painless, with the exception of a very tiny pinch when he injected the roof of my mouth. I remember getting those years ago when I had teeth extracted and they were extremely painful, but NOT with Dr. Hartwig. I am dental phobic so it was a real challenge for me to have this work done, but Dr. Hartwig made things a lot easier. He was kind and patient and never made me feel rushed, even though he was very busy. During my initial consultation with Dr. Hartwig, he was gentle and thorough and outlined a treatment plan for me. Never did he try to influence my decision or try to "sell" me anything. He laid out a plan and then it was completely up to me to decide what I wanted to do and when I wanted to do it. He does not discuss fees at all - he leaves that up to his very competent staff. All the fees for my treatment plan were clearly defined, and thoroughly gone over so that I could make an informed decision. Again, no attempt was made to influence my decision one way or another; in fact, even after I said I wanted to proceed, I was asked again if I wanted to go ahead and get started with treatment. I needed some help with financing the work and that was efficiently handled for me as well - within minutes arrangements to obtain Care Credit (up to 18 months at 0% interest) we made. It all couldn't have been any easier. The entire staff (I believe I have met most, if not all of them) is wonderful - friendly, warm and helpful. I don't want to begin naming them all because I am sure I would miss somebody. The office itself is clean and cheerful - nothing daunting or "scary" about it.. I will mention one member of the team by name because she was such an important part of my experience - Missy. What brought me to the office initially was a broken upper tooth, near the front. I needed a lot of other work in addition, but I HAD to have something to fill that gap until I could get in for the rest of the work. Missy bonded in a tooth for me that was incredible - it couldn't have been more perfect. She is a true artist. There was NO way to tell that it was not my own tooth. She took a great deal of time to make it look that way - she did not rush and just kept fitting and shaping it until it was perfect. She made that tooth for me as if she was making it for herself or a member of her family. THAT was impressive. Two days ago I had all the extractions done and Missy was there for me - I was pretty worked up (to say the least), but she was a constant source of encouragement and comfort throughout the entire procedure, even though she was very busy assisting the doctor. Not once throughout this whole experience has any one made me feel awkward or uncomfortable or silly because of my fears. I have been treated with patience, understanding, and total respect. Whenever I am there, I feel welcomed and cared for. That's really good because I'll be going there pretty often! Will I ever be thrilled to go to the dentist? Probably not, but now when I go, I know I can trust Dr. Hartwig and his staff to get the job done. You CAN trust me - I was seriously dental phobic, but that's all changed now.

UNHONEST DIAGNOSIS AND UNHONEST BILLING! STAY AWAY!!

I agree with the other comments below, unfortunately not only did I have 8 magicically dissappearing cavities but I also had to deal with their billing scams .First in 2008, was the horrible billing experience, front desk told me they were preferred (in network) with my insurance but was billing as out of network causing me to pay more out of pocket. After trying to settle the issue several times and being told it would be fixed, I continued to get billed along wtih receiving phone calls stating I owed money. What I owed money to was something that didn't even exist... 8 cavities and gingivitis? The total out of pocket was going to be 800 +. I eventually did settle the bill, they finally billed my insurance in network and my remaininng balance was taken care of. HOWEVER, went to dentist today that was recommended by a friend, and as thought... no cavities... no gingivitis. I even explained this to my dentist to be sure... they began telling me about dentists like this... hurting for money... scamming... finding ways to get people to pay out of pocket (dentists and doctors get paid more money with people wtih no insurance then the diddle squat they get paid from insurance companies). PLEASE whatever you do, DO NOT GO HERE. If you have been told you have something...go see another dentist to be sure. Then you will believe me. Shame on Family Denistry of Arnold....the assistants who tell you lies and the dentists that confirm it....down to the billers behind the desk. If I could put less then ONE star I would!

Very Unsatisfied Scam

My son went there for a cleaning over a year ago and was told he had 6 cavities. Unfortunately I lost my job and insurance and did not get them taken care of at that time. He just went to a new dentist yesterday and WOW all 6 cavities do not exist. Do cavities disappear after over a year??? I do not think so!

How many other people have they done this same thing too???

Unsatisfied

I received a bill from Arnold Dentistry dated 12/30/09, saying I owed $141. I wrote and said I didn't. It had to have been more than a year since I'd gone to them for that single visit; I'd received a post card (actually 2) advertising I could get a basic work up (xrays, conference). I brought in my post card, paid the $65 flat fee according to their mailed advertisement. 17 months later I get the first bill saying I owed them money; 30 days later, received a final notice saying if it wasn't paid within 10 days, it would be turned over to collection and it would affect my credit. My first letter to them was not responded to, my second letter, again asking for proof, was sent today, certified, return receipt.

Seventeen months after my single and only visit to their office, they sent me their first bill. I was there on 7/17/2008, and the first bill received was dates 12/30/2009.

Yes, the folks I saw on my visit were pleasant; and I paid my bill in full at that time. I don't doubt their kindness to their clients, I do question their accounting and billing practice debatable.
