My family has had a great experience with Dr. Ben Mishler. He's the best dentist in Anchorage. I appreciate his clear explanation of my dental options and my teeth have never been better. I even drive to East Anchorage to visit his dental office. My son watched a movie during his checkup!

These folks seemed to be decent, honest people. However, while the quality of work was fine, their FINANCIAL ETHICS are not. They quoted me a little over $8000 to do 6 three-quarter or full crowns, and based on that quote, I accepted their offer and the work was started. Halfway through the work, they printed a copy of the quote, and I noticed the cost in the quote went from ~$1250 per crown to over $1400 per crown. I was wearing the temporaries at that time, so I was committed. I asked the blonde behind the desk about the discrepancy from the original quote, and I was told not to worry about it, that I would be charged the original $1200 quote. I even paid EVERYTHING they told me I was responsible for ahead of time to take advantage of the 5% discount they offer. The work was completed 7 weeks ago, and I left, thinking our business was concluded. OH NO. Today, I get a bill for $1595! The work went from about $8000 quoted to $9970! That's ONE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED, NINETY FIVE DOLLARS more that the quote I agreed to. They ARE charging me the $1440 or $1490 per crown that the quote went up to AFTER the temporaries were already in place and the permanent crowns ordered. The blonde told me a blatant LIE when she said that I would be charged the amount I was originally quoted and agreed to pay. There are LOTS of excellent AND ethical dentists in town - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
