she is a terrible mediator. resulting in calling both of us names. charges us for 45min at $200/hour to just schedule the mediation. maybe a total of 6 phone calls by a secretary. then after only 30 min of mediation she said she couldn't help us and terminated the session. yet charged us for a full hour.

I want people to know before entering a contract with Amy Sholar that she is not your typical attorney and I recommend you stay away from her. My case was referred to Aty Amy Sholar by the overseeing judge for mediation. So, I didn't have a choice whether I wanted her to represent me or not. I called out her office and spoke with her secretary about the fees for retaining the required services. I told the secretary that I had reservations about paying Aty Amy Sholar cause I didn't think my ex would pay; meaning both parties had to pay half. I was told directly that if the other party didn't pay, I would receive ALL the deposit back and that they would report to the courts that the other party failed to pay anything. Well, neither was true. Mediation never occurred. She did not report to the courts and she held onto $100 just to sign my check that was refunded to me. So, I got no service from Amy Sholar but she stole $100 from me; but I see that her signature costs $100. The way it went: the judge assigned my case to Aty Amy Sholar, never received any services but lost $100 for what??? Just on that respect, stay away from her. She will screw you, like she screwed me!

Amy is great at telling you what you want to hear and taking your money. What she is not great at is fighting for you or doing much of anything to help your case. If you want a real lawyer, don't call her. She will pretty much go with the flow and agree to whatever the other lawyer wants.
