The chocolate flourless cake here is my go-to birthday cake - or for any occasion actually. So rich that you have to slow down and take smaller bites to fully enjoy the flavor. I've recently discovered how good their cookies and other pastries are too - well worth the drive 'up the hill', outside the usual Old Town Pasadena haunts.

I would like to respond and say that Mike (the owner) is a wonderful person. We all have bad days. Do you ever wonder why someone is not themselves? You never know what they may be going through at that moment!!! I have never experienced him to be nothing but professional and very nice to any customer that was there at the same time as myself. Give Patti Cakes a break and don't let that negative review keep you away from the bakery. Also, you can always look forward to a welcoming smile from his wife Phyllis. And most of all, their SCRUMPTIOUS DESSERTS!!!
