After having only 2 apt'...

After having only 2 apt's with Dr. Doerner, I would not recommend him to any family or friends. I went to see him for an acute pain injury on my 2nd apt. When he walked into the exam room he asked how I was, I began to respond, trying to explain the cause of injury, my interventions (massages, ice, heat, NSAIDS with minimal relief) but he cut off my him saying "I just need to know where the pain is". I was appalled. He seemed completely disinterested in the patient, what the patient was going through, only assuming this is related to my chronic pain issues by saying "this is nothing new, you've had pain for what, ten years?". I could not believe how he cut me off, completely disinterested in what I was going through in the last 3 days. I began to cry, having been in terrible pain for the 3rd day in a row, frustrated with his lack of compassion and inability to listen to me. I then confronted him in regards to his terrible bedside manner, and told him I felt he was not listening to me as a patient. He said "I have other patient's to see, what can I do for you". I told him he could be nicer to his next patient. I felt he was in a hurry to get his day over with. He did refer me to a neurologist and walked out of the exam room while I was speaking to him. He basically said he can not help me and I should find another doctor. I am a nurse in the hospital bedside setting and feel the minute a doctor or nurse doesn't listen to a patient, that's when a patient loses trust in you. I hope Dr. Doerner listen's to his future patient's and not assume what is going on with a patient before walking into an exam room. I will not be going back to this doctor. I see terrible bedside manner on a daily basis while at work, and I see great bedside manner. And all the while when Dr. Doerner was not listening, I did make a comment about how I am actively looking for a new job that did not include bedside nursing/physical labor and he again cut me off commenting on how a social worker would have to get involved. I asked what would a social worker have anything to do with my situation? Come on, really? Listen to your patient. And to top it all off, after placing a review of this doctor on vitals.com, he responds with assumptions of labeling me as a narcotic medication user and being reluctant to seeing a neurologist for further evaluation. Thank you so much Dr. Doerner for assuming I am a narcotic drug seeker, who could potentially sell medications on the street and abuse them. I am not, and feel it is unfortunate that the only thing I was seeking was a good doctor who would listen, help me, but instead, you mis-labeled me. I left the office in shock of your behavior and assumptions. I too worked very hard for my education, with many years of studying and am too smart to throw it all away to be what you mislabeled me as a narcotic medication seeker. Thanks a lot for your narrow minded assumption.

I felt I just had to go on here and write about my appointment yesterday with Dr Doerner After reading these reviews before my appointment. I have worked in clinics and witnessed many situations where people bash a doctor or do everything they can to hurt a doctors reputation just because they didn't get their drug of choice or the Doctor didn't do what they wanted or say what they want to hear. And I am so glad I went with my gut on giving Dr Doerner a chance. I felt so comfortable and he really listened to my problem and went over many different options as far as my plan of care. Someone wrote about how he would only address one problem and insist you make another appointment to go over anything else. That's so not true. I had several things going on and he addressed all of them. Not only that but I waited maybe 5 minutes total in the waiting room. then after Bailey who was also amazing got my vitals Dr Doerner was in the room with me within one minute. There was absolutely no waiting hardly. After we finished he told me how great it was to meet me and how happy they were to have me and walked with me to the appointment desk. I not only feel like each and every possible thing going on with me was addressed. And trust me there were severAl. I feel like he knew exactly what he was talking about and very confident that he is giving me the best care I could possibly ask for! If your looking for a doctor who is respectful of you and your time and very knowledgeable this is the doctor to see!!!!!#

One Star Is Too Much

My husband and I really tried to give this guy a chance and saw him several times. Consistently an aggravating to infuriating experience. Dr. Doerner will only listen to one problem or symptom per visit. Then you are abruptly cut off and told you must make another appointment for him to evaluate any other problems. For example

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCES

The first time I saw this doctor was for an annual checkup. I asked about a problem I was having and he said, I'll look at it but I can't do anything about it today.

Dr. Doerner is not an IM physician I would recommend. He has the inability to listen to his patients, clearly wanting to spend little time. His verbal and non-verbal communication clearly shows his lack of experience; noting his experience to be under 6 years. It is unfortunate to see physicians practicing in the manner in which he does.

Pompus and Arrogant

Here we have a doctor and office staff who think they're doing us a big favor by seeing us.

I took off work today to go to an appointment here. I had downloaded their "New Patient Packet" from their web-site, printed, filled out the forms, and had them in hand. After letting me sit in their waiting room for 45 minutes, I was informed that the doctor wouldn't be seeing me because I didn't fill out the forms online! Just like that; I'm not making this up.

If they don't want the forms downloaded and filled out, why are they down-loadable? Anyway, they certainly weren't going to enter the information provided - that wasn't their job. The best part is: they made me pay my co-pay when I first walked in before they made me wait the 45 minutes! Astounding.
