Provided by YP.comI contacted Trotters for a TV Repair. They told me that they would look at the TV and bring it to them. I dropped the TV off and paid them their $60 fee. I didn't hear from the repairman for a week and a half. Finally I decided to call him and inquire about the TV. He said that the part he thought he might need for it was backordered (This was after I asked them to tell me how much the part would be BEFORE ordering a part). I never received a phone call from Trotters, every time communication happened it was because I called them. After 3 weeks of very little communication on their part and no further information on a backordered part I decided to ask for the part number so I could attempt to find it myself. Not only did I find the part but found it and had it ordered in 10 minutes. Their attitude is very unfriendly and like they are entitled to treat you like a nobody.
After the part I ordered had arrived at their shop and he had installed it I received no phone call. I called and asked how the TV repair was coming (Week 4 of the repair) he said he had finished the repair and lacked a remote. This is a place that sells TV's and repairs them, he didn't have a remote.
I showed up with my remote and determined that the tv was in working order. Told the guy working the counter that it was ok and I asked him what the total on the bill was. He told me that I could not take it home because he knew nothing about the tv and all the repair guys were out that day. I finally convinced him to call someone else who might know more information. He found out that the tv was good to go if I thought so and he charged me 2 hours of labor at $88/hour. This is after I ORDERED the part and did the work for them.
I waited 30 minutes for the owner to show up to speak with him. I took my time explaining my situation and the problems that I had encountered during my experience with his company. He told me if I didn't want to pay the bill then he would take MY part out of the tv and I can take the tv somewhere else. What I was trying to explain to him if he would have listened is how his employees were very lazy and would not follow through with a job. Instead of him listening to me he showed me where his employees get their attitude. The rude and lazy attitude you get starts at the top and goes down from there.
I would not recommend this place of business to anyone for any type of need. All they are interested in is making a big % off of you very quickly and for you to leave. STAY FAR AWAY from Trotter's of Alexandria.

Provided by YP.comI've been buying from a Trotters for years. The reason? They stand behind their products, they know their product line and they give you the personal attention every customer wants when making an important purchase of electronics or appliances. Given the choice of wandering around a "big box" store waiting for help who when they do arrive have no clue about whats the right fit for for what you want the choice is a no brainier. Folks who know Alexandria know Trotters treats you like family, no pressure, just smart professionals in a relaxed inviting atmosphere.
