I wrote this to Zumiez corporate.

I want other moms to be aware of the cottonwood store.



I will no longer spend any of my money in your stores or allow my children to spend any of my money there.

There have been countless times I have thought about this but I'm really just at my wits end with the staff of your cottonwood mall store in Albuquerque. Around Christmas time last year was my first encounter with your so called store manager. Not only was she rude,but countless times I would ask staff for help or god forbid exchange policy information on some pants I bought my son that didn't fit him correctly. All I got was the run around or instructions to go to the Coronado store clear across town for exchanges and returns.

However my children love the clothing of your store and so I continued to shop there, receiving less than average service from your staff. A few months ago my younger son and his friends were shopping and overheard a conversation between staff about how the store manager was often not at work due to a sexual relationship with another assistant manager in store. I had half a mind to come stomping in to talk to the so called manager after I had to have a long conversation with my 11 year old about what exactly giving "blow jobs" means. Instead I called the store and asked for the distict managers phone number. Where the staff member gave me an incorrect number and hung up on me. Finally I decided to call the Coronado store where a young lady gave me a number to what I'm assuming is a corporate voice mail.

I choose to just not take the boys to Zumiez anymore. We normally go to industrial or a local store.

However recently I decided to walk in when I saw a new girl working in hopes that perhaps a new manager had taken over the store. When I walked in I was outright ignored. The girl who I believe is named Sariah Spent most of her time texting and talking about how she's just "trying out" the job for now and that the manager was in dire need of people to run the store because she is such a poor manager.

I thought about calling the dm again, but then I began to think to myself, I have worked retail, district and regional managers are the people who hire these store leads. I can only imagine getting these calls all the time. Obviously this rude lazy and apparently unethical girl still has a job so making a profit must be all that matters to these big guys on the higher levels. There really is no point in trying to make a change.

I did however want you to know that I will not shop at your store or allow my children to anymore. I will also share my experiences with my friends co workers and fellow mothers. I have always been a fan of Zumiez until recently. I am sad to say that a company that I would gladly allow my money to flow into has no care for ethical polite or general customer service.
