Stone Gate sod is truly great! We bought our sod from their farm; a wonderful drive, just 35 miles from Albuquerque. We actually watched, as they cut and rolled our sod, into beautiful rolls. They are wonderful people and so informative as to being successful with growing a beautiful lawn. Their sod is extra thick with a full 2-21/2 inches of roots which they explained would allow for faster rooting and growth. GO STONE GATE!!

After looking around at a couple different Home Depot locations, I wasn't happy with the quality of their sod. I don't think they really care if they sell sod or not, they just have it there to "pull" people in. It was yellow and dry. Something I would NOT PAY FOR and lay in my yard. Stonegate, on the other hand, had fresh, GREEN sod rolls. You can't just walk into their location (in ABQ) and pick up sod, you have to place an order ahead of time. But it was well worth the wait! Beautiful sod! They also told me when I ordered, that if I wanted it same day, I COULD go out to their farm in Moriarty and they'd cut it right then and there for me!Wow....they say they have the best sod in town, and they aren't kidding! I am more than pleased with the result of my new lawn! I wish I could share a picture on this site! It's instant gratification! And beautiful too! :)
