Spent thousands of dollars to have a new roof put on, and now the skylight is leaking in the bedroom and I have damaged drywall less than 7 months later. Their Better Business Bureau rating means nothing. Stay away from these people, or at least away from sales rep John!

I was referred to Goodrich Roofing by a very good friend of mine. She had her roof replaced and he dad had also used Goodrich. When her salesperson, Jeff was at her home, she gave him my contact information. He called me as soon as he left her place and we agreed to meet the next day. Jeff showed up on time, we talked about my concerns with the roof; I had lost a lot of shingles during a wind storm in the spring. He went up and inspected the roof and took measurements. He then reviewed my options with me, bringing to my attention that I may be able to file a homeowners insurance claim to cover the damage; there was more damage up there than what I could see from the ground. He then helped me file the claim with my insurance company. A week later my insurance company sent an adjuster out. Jeff came out to meet with him to review the damage. My insurance company agreed to cover the cost of the roof. At that time, Jeff and I reviewed the items that would be installed and upgraded my roof from a 3-tab to a laminated dimensional shingle at no charge. We then scheduled an appointment for the roof to be replaced. On the day of install the roofers arrived right on time. When they started the tear off we discovered that the underlying decking was bad. The job foreman called and let Jeff know; he came out, reviewed the damage and made the call to my insurance company to get approval for the decking. The install continued and was completed that day. The installers were very polite and did a great job. They even did the roof on my dog house to match my new roof! At the end of the day they ran a giant magnate through the yard to pick up stray nails and let me know that sometimes a few get missed and to be careful. It’s been 6 months and I’ve only found 2 nails in the yard, considering the amount of roofing material that was taken off, I’m really impressed. The roof came with a 3 year workmanship warranty and a 5 year limited lifetime warranty on the shingles. I called Goodrich out because my swamp cooler had a tiny leak, they came out, saw that it was a small gap in the metal, sealed it up and it has been perfect ever since. They explained that sometimes when the unit is move the silicone seals along the edges work their way loose. I am very happy with the new roof and would recommend Goodrich to anyone. They are not the cheapest around, but they do offer the best quality for your money; and I know if I have an issue in 10 years they’ll still be around to help. I checked them out with the BBB and they have an A+ rating and have been in business for over 60 years.

This company will probably have the best prices that you will see but they only have a two year warranty on their workmanship and for good reason; it will leak! Since 2004 when they installed my roof there have been several leaks and most of them due to corners being cut. My advice would be to find a roofer that takes a little more pride in their work.
