I chose David's Bridal for my bridesmaids to buy shoes and get them dyed to match their dresses. We have had nothing but problems with the staff during this process. The girls ordered their shoes more than 6 months before my wedding and they just got them dyed (3-4 months later) because of all the issues that happened. It was a good thing that I planned ahead because had I waited to have them purchase and dye their shoes, they probably wouldn't have them in time.



The first issue I have is that when the wedding date is put into their computer system, the delivery date of the shoes is determined based on that date, not based on when you placed the order. The girls had to wait > 2 months for their shoes to come in. The only reason they had to order the shoes is because they didn't have their size in the store. The girls all used the Albany store but ordered the shoes at different times and the ones that ordered earlier had their shoes held there until the other girls came in. Once the last girl's shoes came in (only after calling several times and making them change the delivery date to something reasonable), David's lost one of the girls shoes. They first offered to order new ones, which again wouldn't be in for another 1-2 months. After not accepting this offer, the store reluctantly found a pair in another store and had them shipped to the store. When she came back to get her shoes, they couldn't find them AGAIN but found the old ones which weren't dyed! The manager was very unprofessional to the girls, rude, and sarcastic.



David's Bridal is very unorganized. The sales associates do not appear to be trained uniformly and one will tell you one thing, while another will tell you something different. I do not recommend anyone use David's Bridal. They appear to be a convenient store to use when not everyone in the wedding party is in the same state. But they are not a convenient or friendly store to work with.

I had an excellent experience at David's Bridal in Albany from beginning to end. I went with my two bridesmaids, I filled out a piece of paper when I walked in, and then we were free to explore on our own. I was perfectly content doing the whole shopping thing on my own, so we just picked out a bunch of dresses and I started trying them on. A personal consultant met up with us right then and was very nice and helpful. I pretty much knew the dress I was going to get right from the beginning, but she still helped us select some different styles to try. The whole time, we had one-on-one attention, and my consultant was very understading of the style I was looking for and they had an enormous selection in many price ranges. My friends and I had so much fun!! The dress is perfect and only needs the halter strap tightened, and although I will be doing that myself, I was impressed that they had a seamstress available right then to help me if I needed it. And best of all, after about 3 hours I went home with the perfect dress, and I spent less than $300.
