I was driving through Alamosa on my way home when my wheel bearing broke. I found the garage as I made my way back into town and Johnnie put my car on the lift, found the problem, ordered the part and had it overnighted, fixed it and I was on my way home by noon the next day. The price I was quoted was the price I paid. Awesome, high quality service!! His office person, Cindy, helped me find a hotel that accepted dogs and was kind enough to take me to the hotel and pick me up the next day. She even stopped at Walgreens so I could by a couple of leashes for my dogs. I had a very positive experience.

I was passing through Alamosa on a road trip when I developed rear brake problems due to a leaking oil seal. I stopped at Johnnie's Auto Repair and asked to have the axle seal replaced. In the process of removing the axle, a retaining pin broke. The mechanic first advised me to buy a new differential carrier costing several hundred dollars and requiring several days for delivery. When I objected to this, he then suggested that I pay somewhat less for a used differential from salvage. I examined my vehicle and I could see no reason to replace anything other than the retaining pin and seals, so I insisted that the axle be reassembled with only those new parts, and a tack weld to ensure that the new pin would not work loose. Well, this guy performed an overly massive, bulbous weld, which caused interference inside the case so that the differential could not rotate. In order to rectify this, the weld had to be ground down, and this ham-fisted mechanic did not even shield the open differential from the grinder, which resulted in it being filled with metal filings before he closed and filled it with oil. At this point I was so appalled and disgusted that I quietly paid the outrageous $308 bill just to get out of there.
